Review of Classic Cliffjumper Upgrade Kit with Images

The packaging is awesome. Everything was nicely packed in it's own little space. Obviously everything was done in Classics fashion. The cardback opens up to a custom made comic which is very cool! I can scan this in high detail if you'd like.

Inside there a certificate of authenticity (I received number 40 of 300 and the
other kit I received is 61 or 62 of 300, I don't have it in front of me at the
moment), step by step instructions and a special note about gluing and not screwing the new hood scoops in place which is important because the originals are screwed in place and it looks like the screw might work on the custom pieces but again, this little card warns you not to use the screws.

The conversion was fast and simple. You can see that the new head pops on without the face and then you slip the face in without any glue. This is really nice because you can change his face to one of the other options without removing the head and its not permanent. The head is VERY tight on the ball joint.

The original spoiler pops right off as there's no glue or screws holding it in
place. This leaves two grooves on the side of Cliffjumper above where the new spoiler glues in place. This actually looks kind of neat like their supposed to be there.

The new hood scoops don't look too different until you start to really compare them. It's a very subtle difference but the little details like this make Cliffjumper really stand out as being different from Bumblebee. Very nice detail.

The front bumper area was also very easy to glue on. Both pieces fit right over the originals.

When your done Cliffy transforms just as easily and works just as smoothly. I will say that since his head is so friggin' tight I don't bother rotating his head
backwards before putting him in car mode so if you look you can see his face in car mode through the back window. No big deal though.

The small hand gun is very loose in Cliffjumper's hands. The handle, however, is plenty long enough that it stay in his hand no problem, but it's a bit of a trick getting him posed without his gun wanting to rotate.

The large gun is sweet. The handle is slightly tighter in his hands but still wants to rotate. Of course it's so large that you can rest it on/against his shoulder and pose it however you want to. The handle of the large gun has a screw in it which allows it to pivot giving you even more flexibility to pose. Also there's a 'kick stand' so that you can rest the big cannon on something; just like in MTMTE when he does so to line up a shot on Megatron.

But guns have a flat finish with a textured feel to them. Very nicely made. They could have just as easily quickly molded them out of ABS or something and been done with it but they went the extra mile to finish them.

The finishing touch comes in the form of a custom license plate sticker included in the instructions.

This is truly an amazing upgrade kit. Highly recommended. I can't wait for more from these folks.

Oh and you're probably wondering why my un-modified Cliffjumper has one black hand and one gray hand... That's a mighty fine question that I don't have an answer to!!! I bought him the first time I saw him, opened him up and that's the way he came!

I really don't like the head, or the bumper add-ons.

That being said, I'm most likely passing on this.

Also, FYI, you've got both Cliffjumpers mis-transformed.

Anybody have a link to order these "add ons". I would like to see the "official" cost for these instead of the over inflated cost that was on the ebay auction earlier last month.

Also very interested in the Ultra Magnus kit! Any info?

For a limited 300 piece set, that is probably rubber molded and not injection molded, those "over inflated costs" may be the "Official" costs.

Garage kitting isn't cheap or easy to do with quality.
