I have noticed that every time I have gone to a store they have pegs after pegs of full ROTF stuff. Not only that but I have seen more collectors then kids in the isle.... seriously HASBRO WTF?

When I saw the really huge display TRU had at the one I was at last weekend, I was honestly shocked by the complete absence of any kids. Only myself and two other adults were looking at the figures...

 

See what I mean, isn't it weird? I like want to roll a tumbleweed through the isle.

 

You can't expect the toys to fly off the shelves when the commercial hasn't even aired yet.

what worries me is the fact that soooo many sideswipes were shipped out, i am afraid one of the coolest figures of the line is going to become the shelfwarmer......poor sideswipe.....seriously there is 10 of him for every other character released

 

^ speak for yourself, been to 3 Targets and a TRU since they hit and have seen pretty much everyone BUT Sideswipe.

He may not be going for 80 bucks on ebay like Bee was in the first movie, but he certainly doesn't seem to be shelfwarming yet.

As to the OP, wait till after the kiddies see the movie in a few weeks, and I bet the shelves will start clearing out bigtime again.

They sold quicker than I thought at my Zellers. Too many deluxes but the voyagers were all gone, and I needed Ironhide.  


But yeah, seriously WTF to you for expecting toys for a movie that's not even out to fly off the shelves on the day they're released.

yeah get them now when the movie hits they will be flying off the shelves. i live in a small town but i have noticed just the opposite. ive seen alot of kids getting the toys already

 

A couple of my local Walmarts are moving their stock quite nicely. Legends seem to be the big seller right now, they're sold out everywhere I've gone save a couple Jetfires and Springers.

 

It's a tough call before a film is released since stores always flood their shelves with movie toys before the movie is released.

Although with Transformers being a sequel you would expect them to move faster since kids already know the franchise unlike some other movie lines.

At the majority of the stores I check the pegs and shelves are usually full of RotF stuff as well...but the exact figures available changes every time I stop by. Yes, there's a lot on the shelf but, in my area at least, it's pretty clear that there's a lot on the shelves because the figures are getting restocked on a regular basis. I much prefer that to the first movie, where they were selling just as well and not getting restocked.

And I've only ever seen a kid checking out the TFs once in the ~5 years I've been hunting for toys in my general "zone"...and that was today at Wal-Mart. If I were to use the assumption that kids only have an interest in TFs if I actually see them, then I could conclude that kids like RotF best out of every TF line in the last 5 years. I've also only ever bumped into three collectors at toy stores in that span of time (two mid-way through Movie 1, one a few months ago); that being three people who introduced themselves to me as fellow collectors, not "OMG, there's an adult looking at the TFs so it must be a collector and/or scalper!".
