I'm skipping this in favor of Burning Fallen.
Just opened this one tonight and I think it's going to need some time to grow on me. I actually like the alt mode more than I thought I was going to and it looks a lot more cohesive and "alien jet"-like in person. It's a lot more convincing than TFTM07 Voyager Megatron, which was the last main "alien jet" alt mode at this size class. Robot mode is decent and fairly well articulated, although the left arm on mine has a tendency to pop off at the elbow pivot (I think I've found the problem and it's nothing a heated knife blade won't fix, though). I also like the colour scheme of this version and really don't understand the attraction to Target Hallowe'en Fallen.
The main thing that's killing it for me right now though is the f%$#ing spring-loaded toes. They're an absolute pain in the ass and are frustrating enough that it's dragging down my opinion of the whole figure. Either leave out the springs, or include some way to lock them, or something
I honestly don't know why y'all are having problems with the feet. Peaugh's Fallen Youtube review made a crack at this too: you don't have to fiddle with them or anything, just effing press his feet down on whatever flat surface, and they'll unfold without any trouble.
Personally I love it. It adds a sense of dynamic to the already full-of-character Fallen.
I think everyone needs to seriously take a look at the pics on this page:
the poses that the fallen is in, the sheer nastiness that he gives off makes this an absolute must buy. I got him the other day and just got around to opening him, haven't even gotten him fully posed yet, and already am a big fan.
agreed. We NEED more pics like these of other rotf figures, most of the time, the pics we get are of figures in static poses, which really doesn't show off how cool these figs can actually be...
That gallery is the reason I'm not waiting for the repaint(which kinda sucks anyway).
Not gonna read through the whole thread to see if it's been asked, sorry. I don't have the figure yet, but definitely plan to get it (most wanted figure from the line), but is it possible to remove the springs from his feet and have him remain stable and functional? The spring loaded feet are my absolute only complaint with him.
Yes, but then his toes will be loose.
I love that page. Everything on it is just so bad ass. RThat guy is very skilled.
his head crest being horizontal instead of vertical drove me nuts, i had to fix it. ill post some pics tonight. Otherwise awesome figure, will probably do a bit of an orange wash to get some more fire into all those details.
Got this guy. Boy wouldn't it be be perfect if they somehow stopped the springiness of his toes some how?
A simple lever couldv'e easily done that. Also, the lack of weapons is kind of sad also.
Other than that, he has great details and articulation.
I give him a C+.
Hand-held weapons really aren't a movie-verse thing. These things are weapons. It's like strapping a pistol to a bazooka and forgetting entirely that you even have explosive payload.
I don't like it.. pass.
The Fallen is the kind of figure that doesn't need weapons, considering all the "energy panels" are clearly meant to be weapons, specially the ones on his arms.
I love toys with pop-out cannons on their arms, The Fallen is pure win.
man how did you do that fix?? looks awesome now!
are u still able to transform it back to jet mode after this?
yeah it transformers just fine. I cut the crest off and reglued it more4 vertical, and glue the rubber forehead crests around it a bit.
can someone explain the 'head issue' with the horizontal/vertical thing? I dont understand what you guys are saying about it
got this guy yesterday, I love him! The destroyer mode is nothing special, but still pretty cool and mine holds together well. I love the robot mode and the feet are a million times better than megatrons from the first movie. I'd recommend him
The springy feet are pretty annoying. Generally I like him, but the feet thing is something they should definitely avoid in the future.
Alt mode is iffy (and resembles a spacecraft, better than movie 1 Meg's), but bot mode is pretty imposing. Overall, not that bad of a fig. Springy feet bug me, but don't annoy me too much.
