I believe this is a first, pretty impressive repaint. 

 

First time I saw this figure I hated the grey plastic, but seeing it now it actually makes sense. Along with the white on the doors, it looks like he's been covered in sand (hence why all the black stuff such as tires are sandy as well and are lighter).

Seeing as I'm perfectly happy with my movie1 Ratchet, I doubt I will pick this one up..but anyone who hasn't gotten him, I highly recommend him. Definitely one of the more fun movie1 figures.

Great review. This is on my must get list. I never got Ratchet when he was out for some reason, so this is a good second chance. The grey looks nice, IMO.

Yeah, the grey plastic is used to convey sand covered black paint, together with the sandy detail on the doors.

The actual mold is still a brick and the shape of the crotch section is still horrible imo.

But eh.. maybe not as bad afterall..

 

it a nice repaint, I don't need it as I got the first ratchet, but I find this ratchet very out of scale, so I really can't wait for Deluxe Ratchet to come out.

 

I dunno man, pretty much the whole Autobot cast from the first movie was inscale to each other except Jazz (who was too big).

Ratchet's robot mode is slightly bigger than Ironhide, but not too bad. Vehicle is good size too. Definitely as much in-scale as TFs can get, in my opinion...

But I'm looking forward to the new deluxe as well!

I got this guy to fill in my Autobot medic position. He seems to be a great toy. His paint scheme isn't that bad. I give him a B+.

His weapons somewhat suck. Then again, he's a medic.
