What if "Cogman" is the in-movie name and the toy is named Gears? Nosiree, never happened before, right?

By this point, people in this thread have created so much hype for themselves, no matter what's revealed it won't meet expectations.

Better bold that "site will be updated later today as part of the campaign" lest hordes of people post "what, that's it? That's the big reveal?" over and over again.

I'll be happy just to see the masterpiece barricade, anything else is a bonus.

The amount of utterly insane hype is just fucking bizarre to me.

This isn't going to be ROTF. No movie line ever again is going to be ROTF. ROTF had the bonus of not having a MAINLINE CARTOON as well as a steady collector's line that's only been getting more and more popular over the years.

ROTF was literally judge jury and executioner seeing how it was the ONLY toyline in Transformers so OF COURSE they could do literally every character from the movie an then some.

It's not happening. Hasbro has to get back to Genertions & has to pump out RID2015 toys. Plus the interest for the movie is going to be dead the moment the movie is out of the theaters, there is no point in dragging out the movie toyline over a year and half. It'll be a fast quick burst of products only of characters that are RELEVANT in the movie, the one ones who aren't will be like target exclusives, while the movie is still playing and that's it.

I don't get the insane hype over it. What started it?

Honestly, and this is totally selfish, but I wish during movie years they'd stop the other lines, or at least minimize them so that we can get as much movie goodness as we can like the ROTF years. I haven't bought a single Combiner Wars, Titans Return, or any Prime or RID figures at all, but you bet I snatch up every movie bot I can find. I'm kinda sick of getting the shaft as a collector these days.

That may have been true for the past 2 movies but by the time TLK is out of theatres then the Bumblebee hype will begin, and then again with TF7. With movies coming out every year now they could mov from one movie line to the other seamlessly if they wanted to.

If that was profitable Hasbro would do it. Hasbro isn't our friend that wants to make us happy they are a business that want to maximize their profits. If the data showed that the movie line would be profitable on the long run they would happily axe everything else and just go full movie all the way but it's not. They obviously see that the movie hype exists while the movies are in theater and that the majority of the movie toys sales is while the movie is in the theater and they are playing it for the highest profit.

They aren't going to start a toyline to a hype for a movie that doesn't have a script, that hasn't even started filming, and that probably doesn't even have characters in it. Besides everyone keeps saying how there isn't going to be many transformers in it, I'd be surprised if that Bumblebee movie has more than two waves.

Seriously people are overhyping the movies to hell and back now because of some bizarre notion that TLK will suddenly make Transformers the biggest thing in the world. It's not. It'll come on, it will be some hype for about a month, then it will be forgotten for the rest of the year until the Bumbleebee movies come. Repeat.

Movie Collectors are "getting the shaft"? Are you actually fucking kidding?

You have a consistent franchise that pumps out well over 30 toys every few years with the constant promise that a new influx is just around the corner, hell, we know for a fact a second movie line will start up just next year with the Bumblebee. On top of that, you now have your own Masterpiece line next to the other huge line and it already has confirmed as many figures as the Beast Wars Masterpiece line took two years to confirm before the first one is even released!

    Boo fricking hoo kid.

Not to mention that the movie collectors already have all of the movie characters done and almost all of them are as screen accurate as they possibly can be without toy companies discovering a way to literally bend physics. AND on top of that they have a fuckload of non-movie character movie-fied because ROTF went of longer than expected.

Compare that to say IDW collectors like me who gets toy once a full moon and usually has to rely to 3rd parties, or Beast Wars fans that didn't get anything for years and only now have two MPs. Or hell even G1 collectors who still don't have every G1 character done at least once (if we ignore that the G1 collectors tend to be angry piss babies that cry about everything they get regardless of quality for a sec).

Movie collectors literally live in a gravy train.

Alright, lemme elaborate what I mean. For the last several lines, we have not gotten a complete roster, which poses a problem for collectors like myself. This worry seems to be mostly unfounded this time around, I hope anyway.

The MPM line is a godsend, and I'm ecstatic for it. No complaints there.

However, the issue is that our figures are often of lesser quality than the mainline figures, less paint, smaller, higher prices. It's a bit disappointing, honestly. I didn't mean to sound melodramatic in that post. It's just a bit frustrating with the preferential treatment that the other lines get sometimes.

Honestly the non-movie figures in the movie lines are my favorite part, extra characters are always welcome.

And yeah, alright, I'm going to admit my post was out of line. I just want to elaborate my position on the matter.
