According to this, KOToys will soon be stocking the KO Shadow Commander again, price is expected to be $35-45 (plus shipping from China).

This is interesting because KOToys has, in the past, said that more Commander Armor KOs would not be possible because the person behind it was no longer doing it. Either this person had a change of heart or there's a new person making Commander Armors. Could this mean more KO City Commanders as well?

Is this in any way related to the recent preorder for a City and Shadow Commander restock from BBTS?

I own the KO DIA Commander and it's not bad at all.

 

The only relation to the real CCs and SCs is that demand still exceeds supply. These KOs have nothing to do with BBTS.

 

I didn't mean to suggest that BBTS would be selling KOs as Legit Shadow Commanders. My musing was more along the lines of the KOs originating from the same factory or the recent rerelease leading to someone new successfully making a viable mold. As I said, the person behind the previous run wasn't interested for whatever reason despite there being very real money on the table. It seems like an odd coincidence that he'd merely change his mind at roughly the same time.

 

Chimungmung has some SC armors already. I have one on the way.

You know, if the Shadow Commanders at BBTS don't come in with Backfiery, I might just go ahead and get a KO version because I'm getting tired of waiting and just want to ship my POL. Well...I could just ship my POL and get SC later, but still, I bought some PE stuff for SC weeks ago and I still haven't opened them because I'm waiting for SC to get here.

 

What exactly do I need for a complete Shadow Commander?

 

I normally don't give two shits about KOs, but this one's bogus because they're planning it around a retail release of the same toy.

 

Hmm, why would it matter? It's not like there being more KO versions available is going to stop the real version from selling out.

 

Because anyone who wants to resell them, or even buy them second hand will have to deal with fakes being sold with no description of them being fakes.

 

But that's always a risk with KOs. I suppose it does look a bit bad though.

I suppose anyone who is concerned just has to to use due diligence to make sure they don't get a KO version if they want a real one.

 

Yea, and that's the thing: Since all the SCs are sold out at BBTS (if they ever even come >_>), all anyone has is second hand, so there's no way to just guarantee getting a real one at retail for the moment.

Just a snakey situation IMO. Oh well.

 

I've just seen another batch of KOs at my local retailers. They've even changed the external tape from the normal rectangular ones to original looking "circular" ones that FP uses so as to confuse buyers referencing FP's site. What's ridiculous is that they are advertising them as originals and retailing them at their first release price, ~USD100.

The ko sticker sheets are still a dead give-away though. That's IF you somehow manage to convince the seller to open the box.

I'd get just 2 PE black targetmasters (and leave Rumble and Frenzy for Soundwave). He comes with a sword already and Nemesis Prime comes with guns.

But if you want to go overboard you can pretty much get all the PE "bad guys" stuff for him.

 

Shadow Commander's face looks Goofy, not sinister like Rid Scourge :/

On topic though, It's good that they KO'd this stuff because not everyone can afford this set, even at retail price, and from what I've read quality is almost on par, barring some details, so it's kind of a win win situation.
