Wii Ghostbusters is worth a mention for the Wii Zapper. It's one of the few games where I thought the wii-mote *and* nunchuk integration into the Zapper actually worked and enhanced the experience. It's also a slightly different game than the other console versions since it focuses on the Tv animated series as it's graphic aesthetic. There's even a zapper shell out there that looks like a proton back's blaster, but I imagine the secondary market price on that is ridiculous now.
i did pick up a super jolt gun recently with the foot pedal for all the Time Crisis games, the pedal works great and it brings back the full feel of the arcades, but the recoil doesnt seem to work, which is a bummer. These guns can be modded though to work on a PC with emulation, but its quite the investment. I think for a MAME arcade light gun setup this would be the cats meow. Real Arcade Pro Jolt Gun Mod Service ( Gun NOT included) cool! Ill have to check this out! I also have this little known Silent Scope light gun for the OG Xbox, havent had time to try it out yet though to see if it actually works. For the $20 i paid for it, its totally worth the gamble.
Finally, TMNT: tournament fighters on genesis arrived today. I know it’s available on the Cowabunga collection but I had to have it. I did sell my copy back in the 90s for a dumb reason but all is well now. I am looking for every TMNT game. I’m halfway there. Don’t know if I should go after the NES Manhattan project and TMNT: TF first or the 3DS games.
I just travelled with my GBA SP (with the 900 mAh battery) and a third party headphones adaptor, and it was amazing.
been playing a lot of gba recently too. having both a ags101 and ips and playing on them both now for quite a few hours, I still think they are equals. visuals on the ips are better yes but something about the correct 1:1 pixels on the ags101 just has me coming back to it consistently
The stock AGS-101 screen still pops, and it's a great retro look and feel! The audio is surprisingly crisp, too.
I need to get an audio mod but they require quite a bit of soldering. Not something I want to undertake atm. The thing is with the IPS, everything is technically better on paper but it's like almost too perfect - makes it appear emulation-y kinda. So in a way the 101 is more authentic, and the ips is for when you have old man eyes and want to see all the small details
First review of the Genesis Mini 2 I’ve seen. Interface looks very similar to the TG16/CG/PCE Mini, which is a good thing. I won’t be able to play mine until Christmas…unless I can convince my mother in law to let me have it early
My old eyes are still pretty good, and I considered the IPS mod, except that it would munch battery life down, so it would be a bit of a wash. I just use a 3P stereo plug to charger port cable. With any kind of modern set of earbuds or headset, the audio is just fine, and since I picked it up to travel, the GBA SP is perfect for me.
nice. there are some good battery mods out there too so you don't have to worry about it with either screen. I get around 10-12 hours on both the 101 and ips, I have the usb c battery kits installed in both. they make a similar upgraded one for the sp also, but it doesn't need usb c, it just charges off the normal port. I think it's around 5-7 hours more than the traditional battery from what I remember in my play experience.
Man I’m behind in my handheld mod game. Haven’t paid attention in years. Last mod I purchased, but never installed was the 101 screen into a standard GBA body. Now there’s IPS and USB C charging? Blasphemy lol. That battery pack/usb c would be really handy though
they start at around 35 bucks shipped, depending on the maker. I went with the least expensive on both of mine and no issues so far, just better battery life.
Damn, they said they couldn't get enough stock of the mini tower 2 and removed it from my order, so I canceled the whole order. I really don't need this, I would just like to have the whole combi in mini. But I already have a regular mega drive mini and a mega sg. Now I am at the same point I was before. Ah, at least saved money. I already couldn't get the normal Mini Tower
I've recently hooked up my PS3 so I can start playing Capcom Vs SNK 2 on it. For those familiar with the game, in VS mode where the player 2 is set as the CPU, how can I enter VS mode and select the P2 character using the P1 controller? Right now, I don't have P2 controller attached and the VS mode is blacked out (I can't enter VS mode). Any suggestions?
It's not uncommon for Vs modes to be disabled if you don't have two controllers attached. If you don't have another PS3 controller, you can use PS4 controllers on them with a cable. I wouldn't bother with that setup for CVS2 at all though, playing PS2 games on PS3 comes with trash levels of input lag.
that's just a SP battery tho that charges off the stock charger right? yes, those you can get way cheaper. the cheapest I've seen the usb c pack running for is around 25 and always has a ~10 shipping + tax fee from most places which is why I've said I see them starting at around 35 bucks.
