Anyone picking up the Turbograx 16 Mini? It's release date is coming up fast on the 19th. For me, it's in the "likely when it's on sale, but got other priorities to spend on" zone.
Does anyone know of a good NES emulator for windows that will work with an xbox one controller? I've been playing a lot of N64 lately with Project64 and want to do the same with NES.
And zero lag. Playing something like Mega Man on a modern system can be frustrating if they haven't fixed the lag issue. I remember playing Mega Man 10 on the Wii and it was only a split second delay but it was enough to make the entire thing just frustrating. I think I might (is it really coming out on the 19th? Crap that's close...). It's a good way to get a bunch of games for cheap considering the prices for original TG-16 games. Other than that it's a flash drive. I just picked up the Genesis Mini on sale and it's a great little machine; part emulator, part nostalgia.
Since they announced all the games a long time ago and it's a Amazon exclusive instead of a wide retail release, maybe they figured there wasn't much use for the level of advertisement and attention the Sega Genesis Mini got in it's weeks up to it's release.
Looks like we'll be waiting longer. The factories producing the TurboGrafx/PC Engine Mini have become another victim of Cornavirus precautions. No longer due on March 19th, revised release date yet to be determined. TurboGrafx-16 mini delayed due to coronavirus
Interesting video from the guys making the C+C remasters about the FMV. The short version is - - The Westwood video archive was thought to have been thrown away, but the dude in the video knew somebody who was there at the time and it turns out that they had personally diverted it into storage at EA. - He went to EA, found it at the back of a furniture store room and shipped it back to their office. - The tapes for C+C and Red Alert were such an old and obscure format that nobody knew what to do with them, but he eventually found a video specialist that still had the equipment. - Turns out the tapes were actually just backups of the files used in the finished game, so it was a dead end for those specific games. - They then worked with the community to write an AI video algorithm to increase the resolution and framerate of what they had (sample in the video) - They also found a load of outtakes and behind the scenes footage that they will be including as unlockables
Fenrir Sega Saturn ODE Release Date and Pricing Announced | RetroRGB That sounds cool. I have always been contemplating about getting a Saturn, since it's release.
limited run announced they are doing physical copies of panzer dragoon remake for switch. there is a standard release and saturn style set 40 and 60 respectively. orders close late april so probably shipping by july or so.
Almost a month later, my job has been heavily impacted by the quarantine closures, but if Amazon will still have some of the TurboGrax 16 Classic in stock around the holidays, I might treat myself to one after a tough year (and assuming I complete building my new PC by then). The reviews of people who bought the limited Japanese release of the PC Engine Classic so far have been pretty fair at least.
I was thinking about getting the japanse release maybe, but I like the black design more and want the CoreGrafx version. I would even prefer it, if they made the Turbo Duo Mini, because that's the console I always wanted. Also a Neo Geo. I hope someday they make a new Neo Geo Mini that looks like the home console, because that's what I want. I mean, I could just put all the games on one of my Mini consoles, as they are all modded. But I just love having all these consoles as miniatures. If they ever made a Mega Drive 2 with a Mega CD 2 as a mini console (even if it is just the design and no CD games) I would buy that again.
anyone plan on doing some retro gaming with their virus reparations in the states? thinking I might finally pickup the analogue genesis and put a couple bills away for their pocket. that along with a new 65" tv should be good shit sucks tho. hope all you dudes are staying safe, Im having to switch to an essential business for a bit...was working at a gym and yeah they are shutdown til at least may. at least my wife can remote for her work!
I've been working from home for two weeks and have a safe public sector job, so i'm all good on the front. Retro wise i'm currently playing Yakuza 3 and Puyo Puyo 2, although might have to put those on hold for a few days to play RE3R.
I should dust off Super Mario World. I haven't played in a few weeks because I was getting infuriated at Lemmy's Castle. Stupid Kamek.
Not me, that's going towards rent. On the other hand, having some relief off that burden will hopefully mean I can comfortably finish my PC, so I guess it's kind of No and Yes.
