I've noticed that certain members show a lack of respect to other users.

We all have a difference of opinion, some of us hate these films, others love them. Passive agressive tactics should be dealt with imo. We are all fans but we need to respect each other....

 

Pretty much. Welcome to the internet, were you can be rude to strangers without leaving your house. Where you get attacked or harrassed if you have a mind of your own, or if it doesn't appeal to the popular opinion of others, and get stupid labels thrown at you.

Sadly, some people can't feel good about themselves without being rude or obnoxious to anyone who may have a differing opinion. The fact that people have different opinions is still something they struggle with, among other things.

It would be great if we could all respect each other, but I doubt it'll happen. Fan's just can't ever seem to get along, its sad, really. There's just too much insecurity and low self esteem.

 

Shame really.

As fans, we could share ideas and have good debates but we are like Autobots and Decepticons, fighting each other with one liners like "NO" "GO AWAY".

 

People suck.
People have always sucked.
People will always suck.
At least the IGNORE feature can be used. I've used it.

 

It's stuff like the fans that make me ashamed to be a TF fan, and kinda why I wanna leave.

It really annoys me when:

Poster 1: The fandom's great! We're all like a big, happy family.

Poster 2: I like the movies.

Poster 1: GT*O!! You aren't a TRUE FAN!!!!!

 

Sadly, this is the case. The ignore feature is handy, so at least you won't have to bother with those that can't play nice.

 

I think everyone around here is a bit oversensitive.


And the spelling and grammar is definitely something to be desired.

 

Sad, but it seems like it's been getting worse year after year.

 

A fine example of the topic. I'm happy you at least changed your statement from comparing "everyone around here" to infants, to saying people are oversensitive.

This is a typical reaction, everyone else has a problem, but not me. Weak.

Edit: Oh dear, I thought you were commenting on the OP's grammar, my bad. Eh, again, Internet. To some, grammar isn't a top priority.

 

I assume its partly because AOE just recently came out. It'll die down with time, I'm sure.

 

Just a suggestion to the people running TFW2005; have any of you thought of simply taking the movie forums and movie news and make them a separate site all its own?

I've been spending most of my time in the non-Transformers forums on this site lately, and even then I've encountered a few people whom I've had to put on my ignore list.

That feature is pretty handy, though.

Edited for some of us who aren't movie fans. But I see where you're coming from on that one.

 

Yup

I respect Gwunners for the fact that they're adhering to the heritage of the fandom in a way they're the elders on a city counsel  

But in a way I'm a fan of the newer generation because of the movies, I'm a car guy first and a transformers fan second, bit they go hand and hand. I remember getting a lot of hate for trying to share a part of the car culture that transformers are a part of...

It doesn't make sense, these guys turn into cars... How is it hard to understand that car guys would be attracted to this.

Or you know, just ignore them all and never come in movie forum?

Find me a single post which is like that. I'm here for 5 years and I ONLY encountered the otherway.

 

I don't have problems with anyone's grammar;
Usually they are kind old ladies who bake cookies

 

Can you post some examples? I know it exists, I've seen someone tell another person to kill themselves here for Christ sake. But for the most part I don't think I've ever seen anyone label themselves as a "True Fan". Or call another person a name (not directly at least).

Pretty much this, and I'm talking about both sides of course.

For the most part, I think almost everyone does respect others opinions on this particular site. Grammar normally doesn't bother me, especially when they still do get their point across. Another board I frequent is a whole hella worse than this one.

But I do agree there are a few bad apples, and they have landed on my ignore list. It's such a handy feature and makes viewing forums much nicer. In my opinion moderation is very good here.

 

This. That's why if I like or dislike something I avoid places here were people are opposite. For example I hated predicons rising so I stayed away from the prime section
