http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/scotland/glasgow_and_west/7227088.stm Is there honestly anyone in who didn't know this?
I don't about Scotland, but this sounds rather similar of a conversation I had with a mate in New Zealand about Dunedin Me: Wow, Dunedin's a dump. Mate: What are you talking about? It's like Scotland. Me: Wow, Scotland must be a dump.
Eh, there's nice parts, same as everywhere but Glasgow sucks no matter how much bullshit they shout about how awesome it'll be for the Commonwealth Games.
i love researchers, especially the ones that get paid to confirm the obvious. i can practically hear the researcher announcing his findings to the town council in his scottish accent.
Every time I've been to Glasgow I've feared for my life. And one time a guy tried to talk to me and his friend had to translate for me
I'm going up to Glasgow in a few weeks - I plan to see the interior of Central Station and the Exhibition Centre and nothing else!
News at 10. Is there anyone in Scotland that doesn't know that? Well except for the people living in Glasgow. Me too, and I'm going there at the end of this month!!
Edinburgh rocks. Never been to Glasgow, but all the media portrayals of it as a drug addled jobless wasteland have never really inspired me to.
What about the ones that get paid to make up complete guff? Remember the survey that said Nottingham was the most dangerous place to live in the UK, and that Southend was the safest?! Apparently they screwed up the crime figures, applying the crime figures from the county (quite big) to the population of Nottingham City (really not very big), so there were something like three crimes for every inhabitant! My girlfriend's from Southend, and she feels a lot safer going out at night in Nottingham - the only reason she never got mugged back home was because all the muggers were her yoofs (she's a yoof worker)... So you're going to close your eyes between the two? I'd have thought they'd know better than anyone...
You're not missing much - the homeless men shambling around the concourse at Central Station aren't exactly a welcoming sight, and the city centre has the highest concentration of Big Issue sellers/sq. m. I've ever seen. Further out, it really isn't that far removed from what you see in 'Still Game'! Well I'm getting the train between the two, and the route is mostly below ground.
Never been to Scotland. Always wanted to go, and now I know to skip Glasgow. I wanna see industrial decay, I can just drive up 75 to Gary, Indiana.
Never been to Glasgow, and at this rate I never will. If I go up to Scotland I'll be going to Argyll to see some friends, or Edinburgh to see some friends I used to work with, or Edinburgh to see a friend I haven't seen for years. All of which leads me curiously away from Glasgow.
