As the title says, but for younger kids/collectors. in my opinion its a cheaper solution to those who want a good G1 optimus but don't wanna pay through the nose for one, OBVIOUSLY he hasno trailer or weapon but his hands have the ability to hold weapons What do you guys think? Yes or no and why?
While I do like RB Optimus Prime, he's no replacement for the G1 version. The aesthetics are completely different.
*whew* i thought i was gonna cause a shitstorm cause i forgot to add that its a good alternative (NOT replacement) for younger kids. Reason i posted this is cause my uncle's two boys love rescue bots but think thats when transformers started, i showedthem the first episode of G1 and they thought G1 optimus was the coolest thing in the world (and they're right) so it made me think of RB O.P being a G1 optimus for youngins, cause you gotta admit, yeah the aesthetics are different but its very G1 esque
A good toy for little kids? Well... yeah. That's what the toy was made for. Wouldn't have a problem giving a kid 7-8 and older a G1 Prime, though.
If your going to introduce kids to G1 then buy them the G1 version. There's plenty of KO G1 prime's out there that are plenty cheap and have the same type of quality. Just get your kid one of those so he can learn to appreciate what we all grew up on.
No. G1 Optimus Prime is so much more than just the primary cab robot. He's got a trailer that turns into a launcher base that can shoot out smaller Autobots in either mode and Roller can provide light support in some ways, depending on how he's outfitted. If you REALLY want a cheaper G1 alternative, go buy Energon Fattimus, who pretty much is supposed to be heavily based on the G1 design anyway since Energon tried incorperating the 20th aniversarry into itself with mixed results. Why Energon Fattimus would work better than RB Optimus is because of the mostly similar transformation (arms can't fold in due to electronic gimmick), comes with a trailer base with launch-able drones, and comes with a gun he can actually hold correctly. He also doesn't have breakable smokestacks and while the core robot is called Fattimus for a reason, he at least has better articulation to a degree. The AEC asthetic was also designed around being durable with how blocky and dense most of the bots are, and you can probably find one in good condition for much less than a complete G1 Optimus, regardless of the latter's release year.
