Shout! loves doing these little 5-episode DVD collections... If i had little ones of my own I'd be irritated at only getting 5 episodes per DVD collection.

And now for my usual plea for Shout! to release box sets of:
    -RID 2001
    -BW 2 subbed
    -BW Neo subbed
    -Zone OVA subbed
-anything else Japanese they haven't done yet that i'm forgetting...

Shout needs to wait for Rescue Bots to end then do a complete Series Box Set. There good at Box Sets.
And Why Shout is not getting the rights to 2001 RID i'll never know. I think they can get the rights.

I thought it had something to do with Bandai being involved in bringing it over from Japan, and Bandai wouldn't let go of the rights or something... Feel free to correct me if i'm misremembering/ imagining that...

Bandai. I hope not. Why on earth would they not let fans get somthing like the 2001 RID. But you may be right. I think Saban play a part in airing the show may be he can do somthing?

SABAN! yep, that's who I was thinking of. (Had a derp moment and said 'Bandai' instead, oops...) Wikipedia says that Saban was sold to DISNEY in 2002, so presumably Disney got the RID2001 rights along with the rest of Saban.... :(

Saban got the rights to power rangers back from Disney in 2010. Hmmm why would Saban not get the rights to 2001 RID all so?? hmmm?

I imagine RID2001 has been forgotten about :(  Power Rangers is an ongoing thing, and while the Transformers brand continues, RID2001 isn't relevant/ making money for anyone anymore...

Watched my first episodes of Rescue Bots this weekend, the kids saw it on Netflix and wanted to try it. Cute show... these little cheap DVD releases are great for the car. 5 episodes is about feature length so works well for "watch a movie until we fall asleep" overnight car trips.
