Omg now I’m really thinking about this. Strongarm would be on the trail of a real Decepticon. It’d take her to Griffin Rock or wherever the academy is based.

She’d be the muscle- the one seasoned warrior that would be capable of handling a ‘con.
Chase would be her contact & support on location. She might act like a mentor to him as far as the fighting bit goes.
Chase would be in charge of Whirl, who is completely enamored with a real Cybertronian hero like Strongarm. Chase might even feel like Whirl doesn’t need him anymore & he could have a good character beat out of it.

They’d all be quoting rules & regulations at each other & then breaking them later in the ep.

This would be the greatest cop buddy ep ever.  

 

But Chase is a much more experienced police-bot. He's been serving on Cybertron before the war and when it just started. The bots didn't have many opportunities to fight in their original show, but that doesn't mean they can't. Strongarm is, well, stronger physically, but Chase outranks her, had more practice and, logically, would still beat her in one-on-one friendly match.

She would be a great fit for this show as an assistant teacher coming to educate the recruits on Cybertronian and Earth police procedures related to some larger scale operations, so having Chase alone would not be enough. And, let's be honest, she has more reasons to appear here than Grimlock. But we've not even seen Blurr, Salvage, High Tide, Quickshadow or Servo so far, I hope they'll bring them and some human characters from the original series back in season 2.

Watching some rescue bots. Did anyone catch that Whirl likes yodeling? Not unlike Energon SnowCat, who used to be Armada Cyclonus: another blue helicopter?

Ah, well disappointing but no big deal. They would’ve gotten a different VA for Strongarm anyway if they had her guest star, and I wouldn’t want that.

They really need to stop airing episodes out of order. Grimlock's first day on the job aired after the Dinosaur island episode leaving me very confused as to why Hoist wasn't afraid of Grimlock during that episode. And why they already knew him despite that technically being his first appearance in the order the episodes aired.

You know... I think episodes airing out of order is part of the reason Firefly only lasted one season. It was a pretty good show otherwise and has picked up a huge fan following after the fact but the air dates were all screwed up. Making me wonder if this show is going to see a similar fate.

I think "Buddy Cop" was the best episode so far and Chase's line "I wanted to see that movie" was simply amazing. The penguins episode was also pretty good.
This series doesn't have Rescue Bots writing quality yet, but it's getting there and probably already deserves a spot in top-5 of all Transformers series.

 

Maybe it's a reginal thing or my DVR screwed up because the order of the recordings on my DVR shows that Dino Island came first before Grimlock actually started teaching at the Academy. I had already watched the Dino Island episode a week before Grimlocks introduction even recorded.

There are other episodes like that as well. It shows the correct episode numbers but they're clearly in the wrong order. I'm not sure if I can get a good shot of the screen because of the glare but I'll try to upload a picture of what I'm seeing on my DVR later.
