Basically: Animated is one of my favourite lines, and gave us some of the most creative, impressively-engineered figures ever. Then of course, it was cancelled, leaving many designs unproduced. One that I always wanted was a trailer for Animated voyager Optimus, that would actually give him a complete fire truck alt mode (like he sometimes had in the show), and turn into his powermaster/jetwing armor. (Takara's "Jetwing Optimus" figure doesn't cut it, since the armor pieces didn't turn into a trailer/vehicle/anything really.) There seem to be a few variations on what the trailer & armor would have looked like; I've included some of them below, including the concept art for the combined figure (from the Animated Almanac, I think?). Pretty please, 3rd parties? I love my Animated Optimus, and he's sad he never got a proper trailer. He's been waiting for so long. This is probably my most-wanted add-on set, and I'd love it if 3rd parties gave Animated more attention.
Yes, yes, yes! IIRC a third party company had teased this exact thing but the project seems to have stalled or been cancelled. The Constructicons also seem to have stalled. A bummer as I also love Animated and would 100% support the project!
I am not a fan of the TFAnimated style, but i like the idea of this upgrade. I would buy one that upgrades Classic Voyager or Combiner Wars Optimus in a similar fashion.
I like the animated figure style but not the look of Optimus with a trailer. He looks like a boot. I like the separation between trailer and cab.
Not a fan of the TF animated style either... But the "same idea" was implemented on DOTM, and that in MPM form, is something I would buy without thinking twice!

If it was any one but Xovergen I would be too, but they make crappy add ons. I wouldn't mind more animated inspired figures though.
Id buy that for sure. Animated is one of my favorite series. I'd also buy a chug version of the animated Prime design.
I think that's what eventually killed it, poor sales from lacluster quality on previous projects. I don'thave anything from them, mostly from the poor word of mouth, but if someone else like PE or TDW picked this up I would be a happy camper. Notice I didn't mention FP, I really liked their shadow commander trailer and protector trailer, but those still make me nervous every time I transform them.
While it's not a third party deal there is this add on project from the custom archive: Heavy/Scratch: - Animated Powermaster Prime Armour I reckon, and commented on the original thread that if they don't want to manufacture it themselves companies like MakeToys would snap it up in a heartbeat. What i would wonder would be how long afterwards would they make their own version of the core figure.
I'm ready for the animated 3p wave. A proper articulated Megatron or Lugnut? Look at the MMC Chromedome, that things pretty much proof of concept for Animated.
