I found this guy at my local thrift store a few days ago. Found out combiner wars hands fit in place perfectly. Gonna see about getting the toyhax upgrade Metroplex sticker set, and maybe make up some 5mm to G1 combiner port adapters for the shoulders and knees so he can be compatible with weaponizers. I'm gonna repurpose him as Megalow Prime/Convoy. And will be teamed with the powerdashers. Megalo Convoy - Transformers Wiki

 

That's what I repurposed my Jungle Planet Optimus Prime as.

 

I was just about to suggest that he's compatible with Combiner Wars fists to give him a little extra articulation but then I noticed you already know.

Forgive me if this "method" has already been mentioned. But I tend to look at a character's Trivia & history on TFWiki for ideas. Some examples would be:

-TR Stripes is Nitrotiger; based on the actual species he is
-FOC Sunder I call Lazerbeak; because it's supposed to be the later spying on the Autobots pretending to be the former, but he ends up joining them after getting to know Blaster over time
-CW Legends Groove is Cruiser; since that was his pre-production name
-TR Twin Cast (Blaster's Titan Master) is Broadcast; I associate the name Twin Cast with Blaster's blue upgrade, so using his Japanese name for his tiny self/partner feels right
-TR Nightbeat (the drill tank/jet transtector) is actually Muzzle; just so he won't be without his original Headmaster partner
-Any Wreck-Gar into any Junkion; for obvious reasons
-Prime BH Bulkhead was my Roadbuster; being a Wrecker who wore another Wrecker's colors made it easier
-Any G2 Sideswipe is Lambor; giving him his Japanese name, which is clearly different, makes it easier to imagine him as a whole other character

 

I usually do that as well and also renamed Groove as Cruiser, but the Legends Class is real Groove and Deluxe one is Cruiser.

 

Speaking of the wiki, I came across this interesting tidbit of info that gave me both a chuckle and an idea of what to do with my older Scourge figures.

I figured both the old generations and TR molds were unique enough to be given their own individuality. Just not sure yet whose getting what name. Although the idea of calling one of them Skateboard is just too hilarious.

 

That's a smart idea. Especially if someone went mad & tried troop building every mold. ^^;

 

Shattered Glass fan idea: SG Slapdash from PCC Spastic or Over-Run. Lube from PCC Airlift.

Motto: "There's nothing that can't be improved with a little rewiring!"

This manic, obsessive compulsive thinks he can improve anything be taking it apart and rebuilding it. Always looking for more power. Uses drones to bulk himself up. At any one time half his drones are usually in pieces. The other Autobots know to keep their belongings far away from him!

Lube turns into a frictionless lubrication tool. Makes machines speed up until they fly out of control.



Shattered Glass fan idea: SG Saberback and Sling from Walmart Dinobots Snarl and Sludge.

Saberback is a Predacon scientist who has no time for superstition or mumbo jumbo.

Sling is a young and likeable Predacon warrior who never complains no matter how bad things get.

The Targetmaster partner of Treadshot enjoys exploring the world more than being a living weapon. Wonders off for days or weeks on his own before returning to his partner. Treadshot has learned not to rely on his feline partner.



Shattered Glass fan idea: SG Gatoraider from Arms Micron Die.

Motto: "Good things come to those who wait."

Gatoraider for once the Targetmaster partner of Krok, until Krok was destroyed by Optimus Prime. Having barely escaped, Gatoraider set about plotting his revenge. Now stalking, he waits in the shadows, always watching, always waiting for a moment when the Prime is vulnerable. When he least expects it, at his most vulnerable, the small mechabeast will strike. Prime suspects he is being stalked, and enjoys this waiting game. Making sure never to show weakness.

 

I just remembered a bunch that I wanted to do get not too long ago:

-Prime Ultra Magnus (the fire truck) as Hot Spot; just because I like both the figure & Hot Spot & wished he could've been in the cartoon
-NYCC Prime Arcee (the pink version) as Elita-1; same reason as above
-Terrorcon Cliffjumper (the purple one) as Blow-Out; since that was his pre-production name
-FOC Grimlock as Grimstone; since my POTP Grimlock already has the name taken

 

Shattered Glass fan idea: SG Micromaster Heavyweight from Arms Micron B.H.B

Motto: "I came in like a wrecking ball..."

Heavyweight is a champion boxer in the Micromaster weight division. He may not float light a Bumblebee, but his punches have been known to lay low full sized Transformers with ease. Often works with Megatron as a hand-to-hand combat partner.

Note: This is supposed to be the mirror universe version of Megatron's flail weapon. Inspired by BotCon Heavyweight.



Shattered Glass fan idea: SG Arachnoid from Ida B.

Motto: "Be our guest, be our guest!"

These friendly little drones are the invention of the overly-honest Predacon Tarantulas. Friendly to the point of annoyance, they are always giving good news, singing and a helping claw, even when you don't want it. The simple creatures want nothing more than to make everyone happy.

Note: Inspired by Timelines Arachnoid drones and Disney's Beauty and the Beast.

 

Can't remember if I posted this here, I plan on getting Wreck-gar & a Groove and switching heads to use the Wreck-gar as Flare Up
The old Groove may get a dye job to become Night Ranger of the Gobots or he may just stay white and still be him cause he did have a white bot form.

 

Shattered Glass fan idea: SG Transmetal 2 Prowl from his black recolor.

Motto: "Let your anger guide you."

A creature of pure emotion, Prowl lives life as he sees fit. Enjoys the hunt as much as the kill. Turns into a shadowy TransMetal 2 owl. Can paralyze prey with his gaze.

 

Get him a lazer sword and he will be perfect.

 

Dinobot was a member of the heroic Predacons. At first a loyal student of Megatron, his ambition lead him to betray Megatron and join the Maximals. Eventually Megatron, with heavy heart, had to defeat Dinobot to save a prehuman settlement, but Megatron felt so guilty over his actions he attempted to return Dinobot to life with a clone, hoping to not only return his former pupil to life in a cloned Transmetal 2 body, but teach him the nobel Predacon way. Sadly Dinobot 2 was destined to be corrupted again, and met his fate.

Function: Attack specialist

Dinobot is a theiving liar who doesn't have a single honorable bolt in his body. He used to follow Megatron until he left that hippie because Megatron was giving another of his colorful speeches about peace, love and understanding. Went off and joined Optimus Primal's gang of thugs. He fights dirty, but prefers to weasel his way out of combat with lies. He started out as a heroic Predacon, but eventually fell in with the quick-and-easy Maximal way of living. Thinks Rattrap is too serious and should relax, but likes his smell. Seeks to get the Silver Saucer away from the Predacons so he can mess with the future and end up ruling the Maximal Empire!

I would say Beast Wars Transmetal 2 Cybershark. Colors are more "good guy".

What would the personality of SG Skybyte be? A gruff heroic guy, not poetic, but long winded... I am thinking Jack Burton from Big Trouble in Little China.
