I have another newb question for you fine folks.

Before I knew about Reprolabels, I acquired some G1 sticker reproductions from a couple of Ebay sellers for about $4 a pop. Since applying them, they've come unstuck quite a bit.

Has anyone had experience with Reprolabels vs. other cheaper stickers such as these (eg. G1 Breakdown Menasor Sticker Decal Sheet | eBay)?

Before I buy from Repro, I'm curious whether I'll have the same problem or if they're better.

The only question with Reprolabels you need to ask is if or not you like the sets. The quality couldn't be any better even if they made the stickers from pure awesome extract

Excellent-- I'm sold. It's too frustrating seeing those stickers curling off of Bruticus every few days and patting them back down futilely.

    Thanks! :thumb

Trust me, once you put on Bruticus reprolabels, they are NEVER going to come off. EVER.

No need to question Reprolabels, their quality couldn't be better.

I have applied Reprolabels to all of my vintage G1, a ton of Classics, and a few movie figures with zero problems/quality issues. Been using them for about 7 or 8 years.

I bought some Reprolabels for my G1 cassettes Steeljaw, Ramhorn and Overkill. I never even put them on because the colors looked really wrong. The chrome was way off. They didn't have any of the foil shine like the originals.

The Soundwave stickers they have are decent... But the blue color is too bright.

I might try out some stickers they sell for other figures though. They seem to do a good job cutting them the right size, and they stick well.

They've upgraded their printing process some time ago, you might want to drop them a line and let them know. For a such a small operation (IIRC, it's actually just a home-bound operation run by a young couple who had a baby a few years ago) they have EXCELLENT individual customer service.

I didn't really even consider returning them or anything, since they were so inexpensive to begin with. I feel bad even criticising, because the price was good, and I might end up using them eventually if I get duplicates of those figures that really need the stickers bad.

Anyways, I really appreciate the service they are providing to collectors. Even if I haven't bought any more from them yet, I like knowing they are out there.

Oh, no, I never suggested returning them. I mean just give them feedback about the quality. They honestly have a monopoly on the reproduction sticker market, since they're the biggest and the best, but they're extremely friendly and often rely on feedback to continue to improve their production process.

I dunno, I guess you can ask Delta Star (I think he's the husband of the couple who run Reprolabels) about it. All I know is that whatever Hasbro uses for their stickers on the G1 re-issues, the Reprolabels are of a significantly higher quality in both stickyness and in sizing. To better illustrate the last point, I have a Reprolabeled G1 Prowl re-issue and a normal stickered G1 Silverstreak, and while on Silverstreak the arm stickers are cut a bit too long and end up getting bunched up around the elbow area (making it necessary for his arms to forever be slightly bent to keep the stickers in line), the reprolabels for Prowl, which is pretty much the exact same sticker map, doesn't have those issues as they're cut a bit shorter.

    Ebay:
    Repros are nice.

The majority of them are printed on vinyl sticker stock printing paper.

They are not exact reproductions. Not sure if it's a matter of them playing it safe or not but I have nitpicked some things with no response (wrong shape and color faction symbol for example). I think they do the designs from the ground up.

What they aren't are replacement vintage stickers. They are upgrades for displaying. So don't think you can either buy them to sell as a set with an un-stickered g1 or sell a sell an original G1 as mint with no sticker wear.

    Overall I liked them.

I got a few sets from tfkingdom, and while the materials are closer to the silver paper of g1, sometimes the registration of colors was a little off or the diecutting was a tad off center. I work in the printing and diecutting biz, so my eye might be a little too attuned to minor errors such as these. reprolabels, by contrast, are printed on some type of polymer film, always (at least in all the sets i've bought) had utterly perfect reg and diecutting, and the colors of the replacement sets have been extremely accurate. so, I go with reprolabels every time now. my g1 TF's have never looked better!

The Brand X stickers are from the same company that made all the G1 'replica' knockoffs, and I think most of them were made like 5 years ago and people just still sell them because they can't get rid of them. So the glue is like 5 years old at this point... Reprolabels is definitely a better bet.
