Great job! We've got a thread on this one already so I'll merge the two, but thanks for the review!

Thanks for this info! I've been waiting on this guy for a long time. I just went to eBay and won one for $53.00 + 11.00 shipping.

    Happy Happy Happy! :D

I don't really have any need for one (spent most of Botcon '06 searching for enough G1 Mirage parts to make one complete pristine one), but having some of the sticker deco replaced with painted on details sure makes it tempting.

I got mine today. I never had an original so it's extra sweet. He looks great, nice chrome. His waist does seem to be a tad loose, and the gun is damn near impossible to squeeze into his hand though. He'll hold it but I'm not going to try to fit the whole handle in.

No they're not, take another look at the rear of the missles.

My brother had Mirage when we were kids, he was awesome until my brother destoryed him by just being to young and reckless. Always wanted one for myself, so this is sooo cool!

Brickformers FTL. I'd rather pay that kind of money for a genuine Alt Mirage. :thumbdown

While I'm not keen on people trying to rip people off saying that it's a genuine, mint, 1984 G1 Mirage, this guy looks fantastic. I never owned one, though when I was little, I had a friend who did, and I thought Mirage was AWESOME.

I want one, both for nostalgia's sake, and because, well, I always thought the 1984 Autobot cars were some of the best G1 toys ever made. I just wish I didn't have to pay through the nose for something being manufactured TODAY. $30? In a HEARTBEAT. $70+? That makes me hesitate. That pricetag alone just reeks of greed to me, sadly... But on the other hand, I don't know what the production costs of these are like. So I have no idea.

I want one. But I want one so I can take it out and play with it. $70+ for an Autobot car I plan to remove from packaging just feels like a lot of money.

Crazy, there seems to be no mold degradation what so ever with this.

Compare the head of a G1 fairlady mold to a re-issue or even a re-issue Jazz to the G1 toy, you will notice many of the details are not nearly as crisp, the heads and faces of the fairladies are very rounded looking on the re-issues.

This looks like it was made from a pristine mold!

Your loss. Mirage is one of the best early G1 figures ever made. But thanks for sharing.

I got mine today, and it's crazy good. Surprisingly good quality. It is amazing how much the quality has improved over the previous G1 KO's

I got all warm and fuzzy opening him up. It was like Christmas '84 all over again. :)

I was hesitant about buying one since I already have a G1, but it looked so "old" sitting next my TRU re-issue cars that I had to bite. $65 shipped, not bad. I can't wait to get this.

I was going to pass on this. But this thread made me change my mind, and I ordered one from ebay. Can't wait until it gets here. it will look so much better on my shelf than the old floppy Mirage with peeling stickers thats there now.
