I am currently in talks with a quality repro-parts maker to have the Powered Commander launchers cast in white with red missiles for City Commander. I am also discussing having them done in a shade of blue that matches Shadow Commanders chest (with black missiles). It is unclear at this time what these would cost per set, but my gut says around $30-$35 per set based on the number of pieces involved (I took a PC launcher apart, and it consists of 5 parts plus 2 missiles = 7 parts total). I am currently gauging interest at this price level. Please reply if this is something you would be interested in if I can get it done.

BTW, the parts maker is NOT Darkov. He has a policy of not reproducing the parts of other garage-kit companies.

Update: Final Price set at $37.

Eh, I'd get G1 launchers with missiles for less than that. But my Powered Commander is en route now. I might change my tune once I have the launchers in hand.

One could do that, but they don't quite fit the aesthetic.

I am definately interested in Launchers for City Commander. Ones that fit the Aesthetic, and that price level seems reasonable for a set considering what it is.

I have heard of a few people doing various designs, so not sure what I will ultimately go for, but I definitely want to get him something.

    Link?

I would recommend that you try casting the missile launchers in blue plastic matching CC, with red missiles. I found that, with using G1 launchers, that the white plastic clashes with the painted white shoulders. Let me put it this way; there's just too many different "whites" going on- painted shoulders, CC's white plastic and Ultra Magnus' white plastic. I think this would also integrate better into the overall CC aesthetic.

My white G1 launchers look very good on CC. Are your launchers yellowed?

Also, can anyone provide a link showing where FP plans CC launchers? If so, I will table this project.

Mine have very minor to zero yellowing. It's difficult to say because the "whites" already present on CC aren't pure white either, plus I have a lot of white furniture that contrasts quite a bit. I suppose you'll have a tricky time matching whichever color you end up using. It's just my impression that having white launchers would stand out too much.

That said, I suspect more people will want white launchers. So, nevermind :redface2: .

Based on the lack of response, I am guessing this project would be cost prohibitive. Having a mold made costs $$$, and that must be divided across each unit made. It is not worth it to make 5 or 6 sets of these. I really thought more people would be interested.

It might help to make a prototype first, but I'm guessing that's not cheap.

Nah, everyone knows what they look like. I'm not spending anything on this project until I see that there is solid interest in it.

Just checking one final time to see if there is any interest in these. I am having a very respected parts supplier make these if it happens, so they will be of extremely high quality. Pricing has been hammered out at $34 per set now, only $17 per launcher including both missiles. If anyone wants these please reply in this thread. My final decision will be based on the total number of replies received by 5/12/09 at 7pm central.
