    Hi just a quick question.

I'm repainting an old G1 Inferno (a bit of a scrapper) just for some practise, but I'm having trouble getting the correct red for him.

I'm using acrylic paint and the red I've got is turning a bit orangey.

Just wondered if anyone could recommend a particular colour/shade that would work best for Inferno?

Also, I've been getting lighter and darker patches in my painted areas; just wondered if anyone had an idea why that was - a poor undercoat / or maybe a poor painting technique on my part?

    Thanks for the help!

Sounds like you are brush painting from what you are describing with the different color patches. That can happen if you didn't primer the toy after a proper sand/scuff,then clean off prep work first.

To achieve the red you are looking for you are just going to have to experiment with mixing different colors or try purchasing the right ones from either: Tamiya America Paints & Finishes, Tools & Accessories Categories
    or: Testors

For the main colors of the toy,I usuaully will buy the Spray cans to achieve the same color quality spraying light coats and letting each coat dry approx 10-15 minutes between each spray layer until all of the area I need painted is covered sufficiently. There are plenty of tutorials on here if you search for them. They have helped me out whenever I have questions.Just have to do the digging is all.
