I'm sure it's been asked. Has anyone had luck putting Titan Metroplex back in his box? I'm moving and am trying to avoid moving both metroplex and his box separately...

    Thanks

I cut off the bio and threw the box away with mine. Packaging was crap force 10 compared to what we used to get back in 1987.

It totally comes off. I've put mine back in the box a few times. The only hard part is fitting your hand into the chest to squeeze the giant mushroom peg. The peg is huge and you don't have to compress it all the way, just enough to ease it back out of the hole.

Oh, and remove the ramp/door thing before you reach in there.

It makes a solid click going in but if you compress the peg it eases out with zero impact. Not easy to reach but totally repeatable.

Since Fort Max has the same arm peg, how hard is it to remove for him?

I haven't picked him up yet but don't see anything that would obviously change it.

For me, maybe Metroplex's arm can be removed but I wouldn't risk it. That figure is hard to find and expensive now and if it breaks I'd be SOL.

It's harder to remove Max's arm because you can't reach inside his chest like you can Metroplex. Remember, Fort Max is Metroplexes torso backward, so it's not Fort Max's right arm that you have to attach/detach it's his left.

They're not actually the same mold. They do share parts and some engineering, but they're not the same, at all. The arms, legs, and hips are the same, but the torso/head are completely different molds and what is reused is slightly altered/modified, so they're really not one and the same. Honestly? If you can afford it (and I know, they're not cheap) I'd recommend both. They both add something to your collection.

If the price is an issue, go for Max. He's on clearance in a lot of places and pretty affordable because of that. If you can swing it, BBTS has the Takara Tomy reissue of Metro right now, for much less than aftermarket pricing of the Hasbro version, plus it comes with both red guns. (Try finding a loose, complete Hasbro version for less than $300.00... It's incredibly difficult.)

    Depends on your budget also.
IMO Fort Max is a better mold and cheaper, but I like Metroplex better. :)

I have Fort Max, and maybe this is human nature wanting what I don't have, but I like Metroplex better solely because he can actually use the ramps he was molded with. Fort Max has the ramps on his shoulders and guns covering the ones on his legs, while Metroplex has all four connected and can make a mean aircraft carrier with them, not to mention his legs can actually lock together and that joint in the arm has some actual use to it. For Max you just lay him down, which is really underwhelming.

Honestly, that ramp thing can be explained away. Max is a fortress, rather than a city, so those could be considered landing strips rather than a ramp, even though they're a reuse from Metro. That way, I don't need them to function as ramps, so no loss there.

If money is now object, buy LG EX Grand Maximus. He's the best out of all them in terms of paint and quality.

I just got the arm off on my figure. I was applying force at first but then decided to check with you all, good thing I did.

So, after taking some pointers from this thread I was able to remove it in a snap, see pics how it worked for me. I pushed the arm in first to get a better grip of the bottom peg, squeezed a bit, then pulled the arm with an upward motion to get that bottom side first with my other hand. I don’t see any stress marks on the peg but I can see how if not done with care how it can be permanently damaged.

    Hope this helps, good luck.
