Pretty much just what I'm asking about in the title. Would I be able to remove the paint on TR Astrotrain's face with nail polish remover?

You can, but it will weaken the plastic over the years. Maybe try Goo Gone?

It will? Darn. I've never heard of that, I'm gonna have to look for that next time I go to the store.

Nail polish remover is acetone, though a weakened form of it. Still, it will melt the plastic if exposed to it for more than a few minutes.
GooGone is excellent for removing sticker residue, but doesn't work all that strongly for paint.
Use 91% isopropyl rubbing alcohol. Soak the piece for an hour or two then is a toothbrush to scrub it. The paint should pull right off. If it doesn't, soak it longer.

Alright thanks. I just got some 91% isopropyl alcohol earlier today so I'm gonna do that. Thanks.

EDIT: Yep, working like a dream. It's only been on for about ten minutes and it's already working extremely well.
