Not sure if anyone has tried this or not but Bleach White tire wall cleaner will take chrome right off plastic with no damage to the paint or plastic (at least on Thundercracker's launchers). Just pour some in a bowl, submerge for about 5 mins, work the stubborn parts off with with an old toothbrush then rinse. Comes out perfect.

    Really.

I love Chrome, but I guess this'll help on figs with too much. Except maybe Grimlock

To me, the chrome always looked out of place. But different strokes for different folks I suppose.

Easy-off oven cleaner works well too. Just need an old tooth brush to get in any nooks and cranies where something might be left.

Henkei is all about a more accurate take on the figure. Chrome anything isn't accurate just senseless gaudy eye sores. With the exception of Optimus, Megatron, and Rodimus.

80's just called and Voltron wants his weapons back!!!

I'm not even sure I'd touch something I've spent at least $50 on.

Just so everyone knows, almost all, if not all plastic under chrome is white or a creamy white. Don't expect the missile launcher to be blue under the chrome, you still need to paint it.

So, Thundercracker? What's the verdict? Is the chromed plastic white or blue underneath?

EDIT: I removed the chrome on mine and answered my own question -- the barrels are molded blue underneath.

    Really?

...that's really odd. I'll be doing that to mine then! I looked inside Skywarp's, and his are black inside.
