I am not a hippie but I figured I would start a thread for those of you who are like me and not MISB or MIB collectors and discard the packaging, and since the ROTF line just came out and again most of you were like me and purchased quite a few figures. The cardboard is recycable and at least in my area the plastic is picked up to with the recycling too. So instead of just tossing in the trash, take a few extra seconds and place it in your recycling.

In my area, I can only put certain plastic (PID #1, 2 and 5) in a recycling bin, so no TF packages. I can recycle the boxes and the cards, and I do, but some cardboard boxes have plastic bits and sticky tapes all over it and it's such a bother to rip them all off.

im happy to say i always recycle! i keep the cardboard backing on deluxes and i cut out the back of the leader and voyagers and recycle the rest. unless the box is completly reuseable like reissues, encores, and masterpiece. then i keep it all.

    good thread by the way!

The whole bit (plastic and cardboard) can be recycled here. I recycle a good majority of my trash here on a daily to weekly basis.

Thanks man. I recycle all my bottles and Carboard. For some reason, I never though of the TF packaging.

Any idea what number the plastic bubbles are? Here we can do 1-5.

Good thread! And it's not hippie to recycle - that's just being responsible :)  I live near Seattle, so I recycle everything. I even get a separate bin for them to haul composting material away (including bones!).

Great reminder! I recycle all my packaging as well... especially the plastic bubbles. After reading about the freaky Great Pacific Garbage Patch I stopped throwing away plastic if I could avoid it.

I was glad to hear at Botcon that Hasbro is moving in the direction of greener packaging. And no, I don't think it's an ideological, political, hippie issue.... it affects everyone, no matter their politics.

I know here you can recycle the cardboard but not the plastic bits like bubbles and such.

As others have said, I can't get away with recycling every part of the package. However, I'm happy to hear that Hasbro is moving towards a greener way to package there figures. That was one of the best announcements at Botcon.
