You're screwed. No wordsmithing will help you. Buyers always win on eBay.

Yea I am screwed..pardon the pun. lol

I think the one I had may have been a KO, which makes me mad to begin with. I am pretty sure the screws on the front are silver. I will check my pics when I get home. I bought a couple years ago on ebay as a "G1 original" never crossed my mind to verify it then. So I am SOL...I will just give him his money back and lick my wounds.

As for ebay, they pull the $$ out of your account and hold it as soon as the claim is filed. So my paypal account is in the hole now.

    lessons learned.

eBay is complicated when it comes to these hard to tell items.

    (taken from this thread)

    Box differences:
    - The boxart on the KO is more pink/reddish purple than the vintage one. The vintage one is more blueish purple.
    - The grey border between the window and the boxart is thicker than the vintage one.
    - The KO box states "includes snap on weapons and accesoires". That's not on the real one, although I've seen a vintage box that also had it.

    Bot differences:
    - KO is a little darker purple than the real one.
    - KO has silver screws, instead of black screws.
    - KO has a silver eye, instead of a golden/yellow eye.
    - KO has a shorter black hose than the real one.
    - KO decepticon symbol is a little more pinkish purple than the real one.
    - KO barrel doesn't go all the way over the hands in gun mode, but that's
    just slightly.
    - The legs of the KO are loose, so it won't stand properly.
    - In gun mode the arms of the KO are a little loose. So when the barrel is on and you lift Shockwave, it clicks down one click.

    ISNT THAT THE TRUTH!!!

Ebya has BUYER protection, but no SELLER protection. Hell sellers cant even leave negative feedback any more.

I will look at the pics when i get home but I can say that the was gold, but the screws I am certain were silver. The decepticon sticker was the standard color, no pinkish to it. outside that I will have to review my pics.

    Thanks man for the tips.

Well, to be fair, if the OP bought it thinking it was G1 but it was really a KO, then the buyer *should* get his money back.

That said, the buyer has to ship it back to you. If he doesn't (or if he says he will but it never arrives) they won't take your money. Or rather, they'll give it back to you, since they "hold" it when the case opens.

I had a guy once say something arrived broken and he wanted a refund, but he bitched and moaned about paying for postage back, and "couldnt" take pics of the damage. He told me he shipped it back, but it never came. Eventually eBay judged the case in *my* favor because the buyer didn't have a tracking # to prove it had been shipped back to me.

So at least you'll get your item back.

I own a KO Shockwave that I bought less than a year ago, and I can tell you that mine has a golden/yellow eye, so apparently the KO manufacturer fixed this difference.

Actually, I think the hose is longer on the KO, but I don't own a real Shockwave to check. (Or at least the hose isn't a perfect half-circle)

I never applied the stickers to mine, but I can look at the sticker sheet to verify if this is true, althouhg again I have nothing to compare it with.

    True.

Usually it's just one leg that is loose, and that causes him not to stand properly.

I would not say "a little" loose; I would say a LOT. I can't even hold him in gun mode and make any kind of movement without the barrel sagging all the way down.

I have the box packed away somewhere, but if yours wasn't in a box then I won't bother checking it. If there's any more info I can give, let me know.

Do you remember when you bought your Shockwave?

I thinking maybe if you can date when you got it it could the very least help so I hope!

Mild highjack, but I had the reverse experience when I had a dispute as a buyer for Clips for Omega Supreme back in 2005. Paypal/Ebay sided with the seller even though the seller didn't ship the parts :_(

    The seller was Wheeljackslab btw.
