I want to replace my current reissue G1 Jazz figure (Takara Transformers Collection #01, comes in a white box with a booklet, etc.) but I'm wondering which reissue would be my best bet? He has been kinda floppy ever since I got him (whatever year it was that series came out) and back in the day I seem to recall reading on here somewhere that the Hasbro Commemorative version has tabs (or something) to help him stand up/ minimize the floppiness? Then there is Encore reissue to consider; I've read that they fixed/improved the face sculpt since previouis releases, but I've also seen where people complain that he is floppy (mold degradation or somesuch). Which version would you recommend?
Encore the commerative is the same as the collection #1 except for the stuff hasbro does like the missles
Yup, Encore is floppy, just like the TFC one. Get the Hasbro reissue, it also has a fixed face (okay, maybe not?). If you already have the TFC one, you can just give the hasbro one his weapons and have a perfect Jazz.
Unfortunately my reason for replacing the TFC version (beyond him being floppy) is because I lost his accessories in a move
That was just Ricochet and Stepper. The Hasbro Reissue is by far the worst as it's got the ugly face of the TF Collection one and the horrible missiles and gun. The best option is the Encore one, as it has the fixed face that Stepper/Ricochet have. It also has the better weapons (improvements made to the Hasbro Reissue Jazz and the chrome gun and normal chrome missile of the TFC Reissue Meister). Plus the stripes are painted. So it has nothing worse than any of the other reissues, and several things better (mostly the face). Randy TFC Meister Hasbro Reissue Jazz Gold Meister Reissue Stepper Hasbro Ricochet Encore Meister
I would go for Encore, mainly for the face. It has a blue visor too. Only problem with the mold seems to be that in bot mode, the hood of the car doesn't sit straight on the waist of the body - it slopes slightly to the side. I thought it was just mine, but my friend's has it too and it seems to be the same in the image above.
