More than likely, but not until nearer the time I come to release it.

    UPDATE:
Fprime is the best Lightwave plugin EVER. Expect all the exterior shots in Episode 2 to be rendered with Radiosity. At the rate I have been working, I should have enough footage finished to get a teaser trailer put together by Botcon :)

Is it to early to start bowing, reminding you how f--king amazing you are, and offer up virgins for sacrifce?

I actually found Episode 1 on a old backup disc the other night, still blows me away.

Hot damn that sounds like a fine machine. How much would that put you back, if you had to buy it. (Maybe I'm wrong, I'm assuming it's on loan to you)

Heh. Too much; I didn't win the auction... ;)
I am now looking into putting together a multiprocessor 64 bit machine, dedicated solely to gfx work; I had the chance tomess about with Lightwave on one that a friend of mine put together a short while back, and even running a 32 bit version of Lightwave (the 64 bit version is out soon), on a 32 bit version of Windows, the speed increase was phenomenal.

Been doing a lot of work on lighting and such, and tidying up some of my older models, ready for recommencing work on Redemption, and I can now show you the first footage from Episode Two, a glimpse of the fully radiosity rendered "Ruined Factory" set, and a brief look at Full-Auto (VA'd by Vangelus) as he will be seen in the episode:
    1.29Mb ZIP file, DivX6 reccomended
Watch out for a guest cameo from 2 G1 favourites ;)

THUNDERCRACKER and SKYWARP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rock  :thumb  :ev:

So far, so good. The environment looks very impressive so far. I think it might help to have a little more color variation other then a blue/gray scale, but other then that, it really does seem a step up from the first episode.

Full Auto's reflectivity should probably be toned down a bit more. Most military vehicles (he transformed into a military truck or something close, right?) tend to have that dark, heavy matte metal that has so much non-reflective paint and then all this gunk on it, that if anything, the reflected objects shouldn't be as sharp, but rather blurred with muted colors.

Asides from those nitpicks, the animation looks flawless, Skywarp and Thundercracker move just like jets, and the little bit of what we can see of Full Auto's stride looks great. I can't wait to see what you've in store for the finished episode. :thumb

    You're welcome ;)
Ohhh yes. Especially so when I tell you that the footage you just watched was rendered overnight. That much Episode One footage would have taken DAYS. And with Radiosity? Forget it. I wouldn't have even considered using radiosity on Episode One; each frame could have taken upwards of an hour. Yet as I said, FPrime tore through those frames overnight with full radiosity.
The colours set the mood for the exterior shots; the Polyhex stuff is more colourful, but for sets like this and Sterax (the Autobot-held City State from Episode One) I wanted a more downtrodden, darker feel to relfect that when it comes down to it, this is Cybertron's underbelly; the places where the hopeless live. And the Autobots don't have a lot of hope left these days.
    I know.
I just thought it looked better for that shot ;)
Well, so far I have around 2 minutes rendered, and I have started work ona couple of pieces for the soundtrack. the full episode looks like it'll weigh in at about 20 minutes at the moment. I'm not even thinking about a release date yet, but I should have at least a teaser trailer done by Botcon.

Heh, I do the same thing. Especially because the score I write for each episode is electronic.
I know. The footage I put up was converted from the original with the little convertor app that comes with DivX6. It's not brilliant, but it'll do until I need to encode the full episode.
Incidentally, what sort of thing/settings would you reccomend? The original footage is rendered at 320x240.

    Nice stuff Draven :)

Though one thing that's a slight pity is the jump in frames when suddenly the seekers fly over. :/

Other than that, can't wait to see more. :D

I was thinking the same thing. draven you said you are using your own original music. Is there any where we could get a sample of some of your tracks?
I'm a big D n' B fan and was interested in hearing some of your electronica. Always hunting new music..
The vid looks awesome I really like the dark sombre quality. looking forward to more!
