Agree with PrimeVsPrime.
Just get the Kingdom figure.

 

Unless you hate transforming your figure, I see no reason to get this over the kingdom toy.

 

Somehow, the figure that has to transform looks better.

RED is an absolute failure, every figure that has to transform looks better than the RED version.

Every time I see RED PRIMAL, I wish it was….

 

Seeing Optimus Primal with realistically-textured gorilla hands kinda underlines how freaky BW designs can be when outside of the limits of 90s CGI.

 

Yet another RED figure with a removable chest plate. What is this designer's obsession with removable chests?

 

Honestly I might be picking this up... he looks really really cool. I love the more muted colors on his face?? And the hunky torso underneath his chest plate!! Oh, boy...

 

kinda makes you wonder if he got more combat oriented on earth due to his gorilla extremities being designed for raw power instead of fine dexterous movements

 

I keep defending these things. Saying I know they fill a niche. (As I say, I like the Prime Arcee.) They could use a better selling point, though. Maybe some really impressive paint apps. Or more light piping.

But this? Yeah. The one that transforms into a monkey is only $10 more? Kind of a no-brainer.

I keep saying that all this is a loss-leader marketing survey. Hasbro rolls a bit out, deliberately from different eras. Trying to gauge just what the level of nostalgia is at particular points.

 

Its what I did.

I nearly got the Netflix one but I'm happy with Kingdom. I don't think the Red one is needed

 

I'd honestly just get the Kingdom version.

 

Let's see if they can form gorilla mode like they did with the Cheetor R.E.D.  

 

If this had come out last year I would be all over it.
But this is literally going to be sharing shelf space with a version that looks just as good and transforms.
It is in no way significantly better than the excellent Kingdom version.

And why do the RED figures have removable chests?
Seriously. Why?

 

This is the same but slightly uglier than the kingdom one and it doesn’t do the main thing that transformers do. Easy pass. Plus I hate the face color.

 

The consequences of filtering figures. HA!

 

I almost never consider any toy to be a waste of plastic. Usually it's always bringing something unique to the table, from gimmicky one-steps to the idea of non-transforming Transformers with more articulation.

This is the exception. No reason to get this over the Voayger.
