The last of my Siege customs (for now...) Red Alert was the first one from the line that I liked better than the figure I already had on the shelf, though the off-white arms bugged me. So I recolored them with Testors silver spray paint and RIT dye, then gave him Siege Sideswipe's shoulder launcher so he looked complete. That left me with a spare Genrations Red Alert, so I cleaned off his Fire Chief markings with isopropyl alcohol and repainted him as Clamp Down. Most of the lower body was done with a black Sharpie, but the door and hood deco are custom waterslide decals I made.
i did the same for my kids , the old classics toy is still a great toy and stands up well with the new stuff. so why ditch it, when it makes a repaint character into a unique mold, different from the more cartoon accurate characters toys like Red Alert and Sideswipe. I did Cordon, Tigertack and Spinout as well and was able to switch parts to make it even more accurate to the original toy color schemes. The one thing I wish I had that I dont is that little curve sticker thing on the front/top of the hood. thats the one thing thats missing from it I think. But I put a toyhax label there with the word police. I did add other Toyhax labels as well too here is my sons guys. Cost me very little as he already had the toys.
No. They are hasbro I stripped then repainted and labeled. Theses are old so the sirens are RID Mach alert I think.
Thanks guys! Awesome work on the customs @jamarmiller and @stprime - it's nice to see I'm not the only one who still likes this mold. I made a similar Tigertrack when ER Sunstreaker came along, using a similar parts swap with a spare Sideswipe (that eventually became Overdrive - waste not, want not!). Definitely RiD Mach Alert/Prowl - I used those same parts for my 1/24 builds:
do you have a pic of the front ? I want to see how you did the detail on the hood matching up to the black parts
No pic of front. But. I followed the lower lip around sort to the intane and added small point on hood.
