A good camera around $150. It's way past due to upgrade, and I know little to nothing about cameras. My mom's leaning towards Fujifilm but I'm learning towards Sony, I like out old 4MP Sony right now and we've never had a Fujifilm, so give me some pros and cons of both, though I'd like to hear about other companies as well
I like cannon powershots although they are 170USD I have the a590 IS BUT the a1000 or something has 10 mp over my cam which has 8. Its easy to use, point a shoot. has video mode, and a wheel on the top that has a bunch of different shooting options. cons: it uses batteries quickly (but it takes 2 AA"s) See if you can go to radio shack and find the IC3 batteries and charger. THey take 15 minutes and are long lasting. BUT don't listen to employees if they say any rechargeable batteries will take 15 minute b/c they wont. its 15 for IC3's and 8hours for anything else. I really like my cam and its great for the money.
Since all i know is what you are willing to spend and a brand preference, i can't really tell you anymore than this: i am not a great camera dude, but i have a Kodak EasyShare i have owned for just over a year, year and a half. it is a 6.1MP and has a 3x Optical. which is all i needed and i got it for less than 100. And this past Christmas holiday, i bought my niece a newer 10MP version of it at a Black Friday Sale for less than 50 bucks. it is extremely easy to use. the only real feature i care for on a camera is a better optical zoom. if i upgrade sometime soon, i want a 5x Optical this time around so i can take better pics of my TFs and figures.
