Hi there guys, I will be heading over to Taiwan in a couple of weeks, and will like to see what manga you guys can recommend. The stuff I already have are:

Dragon ball, Saint Seiya, Samurai X, Naruto, Monster, 21st Century Boy, Billy Bat, Slam Dunk, Ravages of time, Gantz, Yotsuba, Yu Yu hakuso, I"s, Vagabond, Liar game, Cage of Eden, Bakuman, Claymore, F compo, GTO, Dragon Quest Adventure of Dai.

Im looking to get either Berserk or Crayon Shin, but is there any other stuff you guys will recommend?

    Ebay:
    Pet Shop of Horrors?
Yu-Gi-Oh (The first 7 volumes, before all that card stuff overtook the series)?
    Soul Eater?
    Uzumaki?
    666 Satan/O-Parts Hunter?
    Kamen Rider Spirits?

Those are what I can think of at the moment that I've enjoyed lol

I've read Uzumaki & Pet shop of horrors, both good stuff really. All of Ito's horror stuff are awesome except they aren't very long.

I forgot bout Haijime Ippo, awesome series but theres 96 books out now.. Ouch.

Rurouni Kenshin (BEST MANGA EVER!, epic samurai tale, 28 vols.)
Buso Renkin (same creator as Kenshin, similar premise as Bleach only shorter, 10 vols.)
Gun Blaze West (same creator as Kenshin, a western, 3 vols.)
Ranma 1/2 (always fun and wacky and full of martial arts, long but worth it, 36 vols.)
Chi's Sweet Home (a must for cat lovers, still ongoing, 6 vols so far)

thanks for the recs so far guys, I forgot to mention that the stuff Im getting is in chinese, I forgotten bout Akira, there seems to be so much praise for it, that people tend to forget that it was published in chinese too.

Stuff like One piece and other popular mangas are avaliable readily where I come from, so I won't worry too much bout them. I think I will get Berserk when I go over since its so hard to comeby.

Some of you mentioned battle royale, yeah its awesome but the publishing company in taiwan didn't print the entire story, same goes for MDP Psycho. Both great stuff that I wanna get but due to the lack of complete materials I gotta pass.

Bokurano: Ours seems interesting, its sortof like gantz right? except only giant mechas

Is Satsuma Gishiden anything like lone wolf and cub?

I can't comment too much on that, since I haven't read Gantz yet (it's on my list). In Bokurano, the main focus is on the development of the characters and how the task of piloting the giant robot effects them psychologically. The robot battles themselves are mostly a side issue, generally taking up only a small portion of each character's section of story (a couple of battles aren't even shown all the way through). But the characters are generally very interesting and act believably, so it's a very good read, IMO.

I generally like his horror stuff, but my god, the man cannot write a proper ending. Some of his stories tend to just stop, with no resolution one way or the other.

If you liked Urusawa's work on Monster and 20th Century Boys, check out his take on Astro Boy in Pluto.
