I've got a pair of Sony earbuds right now that are servicable but are pretty crap when it comes to drowning out the noise around me, naturally. I'd like to not hear what the five folks crowding around the cube next to me at work have to say when while I'm trying to listen to a podcast. So, I'm looking for some cans that completely cover the ear; would like to spend 50 bucks at the very most and if they're loud as all hell, that would be an added bonus. My media player of choice is the PSP and I dunno how my fellow PSP owners feel about it, but I've found it to be a device that doesn't exactly pack a lot of audio thunder.
Skull Candy does good stuff. Both earbuds and headphones. Nice quality, good-looking, etc. I think thr most for headphones is 35/36 dollars.
I loved my Skull Candy headphones till they died after about 4 months of use. Just one day no more sound...
I wish I could find earbuds that actually held in my ear. I've never had a pair of headphones (aside from over the ear ones) that would stay on my ears. Can't exactly drop the money to get custom ones.
i've got a pair of skullcandy ink'd buds that have been serving me well for the past year or so. i'm pretty sure they were only $10 or $15 too, which is a great deal. they come with 3 sizes of padding for the ear too which is a plus because it can help you get a better fit. the only problem is that for some odd reason they didn't label the left and right bud, but there are pictures of little skulls on the pads so i tilted them so they'd face up if they were put on the right ears. 90% of the time it doesn't matter anyway with the music i listen to, but it was still kind of odd. still, great sound quality for cheap, so i can't argue.
My Skullcandy Ink'd buds were amazing, until the wire broke at the base of the headphone jack after 2 months of light use.
I am a fan of studio headsets. sure, they are big and probably will suck the very soul out of a portable's batteries, but they are comfortable as hell for long periods and block out all da noize.
I google'd skullcandy, they've got some pretty rockin' DJ headphones. Though, about half their stuff is out of stock at the moment. Be nice if their site had more in the way of product specs. *nod* That's what I'm talkin' about! ...anything in particular you'd be able to recommend?
Welcome to Maximo Products / Headsets / iM-390 I got mine for under $20 at buy.com. They do a super job of blocking out external noise.
i love the sennheiser (sp?) CX300's, and so do a lot of other people looking on the tube this morning.
my first pair of those did that too. i brought it back to the store and exchanged it. the new pair used a different base mold than my originals and it's been fine for quite some time now with no signs of wear.
I think I'm going to go for another pair of the Ink'd Skullcandy ones again. They had good sound and blocked out about anything else. Great for mowing and the like.
