So, I've been really interested into buying some comic TPBs and while I've got a fair idea of what to get from characters like Superman or Batman, there are a lot of characters/teams that I have NO IDEA where to start. Basically, these are characters that I've seen in stuff like 52 or on teams like the JSA and want to know more about them, but have no clue what I should read. The New Gods Read the original runs of The Forever People and Mr. Miracle. The Punisher Read "Welcome Home, Frank", and the Punisher: Max series, maybe one of the "essential Punisher" early volumes. Which Captain Marvel? If it's the Shazam one, read Jeff Smith's "Shazam!" graphic novels. For Deadshot, you'll likely want to read the Suicide Squad books.
