I've been practicing SSF4 (don't like too much) but I would love to know if I can download old street fighter games, like SF 3, 1-3 and Killer Instinct. If we now live in a time that everything we want is at our fingertips and can be downloaded withing minutes or seconds, is it possible? To make this thread clear, I don't know much about what my PS3 can or cannot do, so any suggestions will help greatly, I loved those games and want to play them again. thanks.
Depends if those games are in the library. If they are you buy them, download them, install and you're good to go. I do know that the typical Super Street Fighter 2: Turbo HD Remix, MvC3 and Puzzle Fighter are there. Dunno about the rest.
Well, Killer Instinct is a Nintendo product, so that'll never appear on the PS3. But, if you visit the PS Store, you will find Super SF2 Turbo HD, Super Puzzle Fighter, and Street Fighter Alpha 1&2. Also available is Marvel vs Capcom 2. Capcom will be re-releasing Street fighter 3 with online play, but no date has been given.
Ouch! Well, RARE does own the licensing I think, or is it Microsoft...I'm not sure. Ok, I'll take a look at the library when I get the chance. EDIT: Is it cheper to download or purchase a game from a local game shop/ebay?
If you can find a physical copy of a game you want for a cheap price and your PS3 will play it, I'd go ahead and buy it. It's always nice to have it and pop it in whenever, or just take it to a friend's house. Though, you may have one of the newer PS3s that aren't backwards compatible, so downloading would be the only option.
1st gen ps3s have the capability of playing ps2 games. sony took it out when they released the 80 and 160 gig versions and the much newer slim ones. all systems are able to play ps1 games though.
Oh. Wait, so I can play PS1.SFA3 on my PS3.160GB?!? can't wait for your response, that game if eff'n fun!
