I've recently fallen in love with this show all over again and I'm just wondering if others on here have the same fond memories I do? From the oddball inside jokes to the thinly veiled references to other materials (and self referential jokes), it was truly a heavily layered kid's show, and grew beyond that image in it's later seasons. I also hear that Mainframe... err... Rainmaker is trying to *ahem* "reboot" the show. Let's discuss.
ReBoot was probably one of the greatest shows on television and had a totally GREAT last episode....only to get another season for no reason. Season 2 and 3 is where it's at with that show. Cyber-Warrior Bob and Snake Pliskin-Enzo/Matrix for the win. Megabyte was awesome, Hexadecimal is to this day one of my favorite villains, and all the pop culture references were amazing, even given that I wouldn't understand some until years later.
i just love it for the total shift in content it did.......went from a one off episode fun show to something with actual story and depth. both incarnations are great but kudos to mainframe for doing something risky
I still watch my grainy VHS tapes of it at least a few times a year. Its too bad that only Season 3 was able to be put out on DVD thanks to some sort of legal issues. Actually, Rainmaker has been working in conjunction with Zeros 2 Heroes in rebooting Reboot. --Moony
I used to watch ReBoot back in the day. Megabyte's "trojan" upgrade just scream badass. Didn't the series end off with a cliffhanger?
Not only a cliff hanger but quite possiblely the creepiest and scariest delivered line in a kid's show ever. "And so begins... THE HUNT!" END CREDITS
totaly amazing show wish thear was more dvd's i was realy into it in 2001-03, but the series left on a cliffhanger iff it ever starts up again im totaly getting into it.
Alright time to revive this topic. My brother was a big fan of this show and I started watching it too and I love it! I have announcement to ReBoot fans: at the New York Comic-Con they will have a ReBoot panel. Since I am going I will most definitely be going to this session. If I can get to a computer that night I will let you know what they talked about. If I can't get to a computer I'll let you know either Sunday or Monday of that week. Also one question to the fans: Since Tony Jay (the voice of Megabyte) unfortunately died a couple years ago, what actor would you like to see replace him? Or would you rather they never use him again? I personally have 2 choices either Ron Perlman or David Warner.
Blasphemy! Seriously though, Reboot was a great show. I was disappointed that they left it off with a cliffhanger. I'd love to see it return someday...
I utteryl loved Reboot, but never saw much of the older Enzo ep's. Still have some figures knocking about the place and have torrented plenty of eps which i need to find and actually watch now!...
wasnt there a reeboot new movie season something or other comming soon? Otherwise I still will without a doubt pick up dvds if I ever see them
I've been looking around for some info on this new ReBoot movie(I just heard about it today). I haven't found much, but what I have doesn't fill me with a lot of optomisim. It kind of sounds like they are just doing their own thing rather than continuing the original series. All I really want to see is an ending to what was already there. There wasn't much that was left to do. Basically, they just needed to defeat Megabyte once and for all. One more TV movie would have easily finished the series back then. If the new movie is basically something completely different, I'm not interested at all. If someone has more information I'd like to hear it.
Right now you can get the Season 3 and 4 DVDs on eBay, for hellacious collector prices. Which is why I haven't gotten them all... --Moony
