Hasbro has done some really good redecos over the years, from molds that work very well. However, sometimes a mold seems to suit another character or color scheme really well, and theoretically Hasbro could redeco it in ythat way, but never have for whatever reason. What really obvious redeco ideas come to your mind that haven't been done? For me: Energon Insecticon into Bombshell Movie Ironhide in Red Movie Skids in G1 Colors (really, that's what Tuner Skids should be!) Classics Seeker Mold Sunstorm Universe Dinobot as Beast Wars Grimlock
ROTF Sideswipe into Tracks or Susntreaker. Granted, they did just come out with Sidearm Sideswipe, and we may be getting a new mold convertible version in the TF3 line, so each Sideswipe mold has a different redeco? Pretty cool idea IMO. On the subject, remember when we heard that the HA version was going to be painted blue as a Tracks homage, but as we all know it ended up being black? I just remembered that Hasbro doesn't like putting out similar vehicles with similar decos, so could that mean we might be getting an HA Jolt?
The fact Artfire could be so easily done from the Inferno mold always struck me as a missed opritunity (especially since the mold is easily one of the best from the Universe 2.0 line). I also always thought that Energon Prowl would make a kick-ass Dragstrip if the lightbars were tooled out (seriously, an F1 police car?). The toy itself isn't great, but at least it would look really nice. A Black Zarak-esque repaint of E. Scorponok also struck me as something Hasbro could have easily done. Hell, black and gold look would look pretty bad-ass on that figure and would make an excellent stand-in for BZ in any classics collection (since the original is...yeah.)
Actually if you paint all the salmon-colored parts on Defender Prime either silver or blue, you've got a fairly good movie Magnus right there. Granted he'd be in whiteprime mode, but still...
They kind of did that with Dark Scorponok. I used to hope for Alt. Rumble to be repainted as frenzy. Or Booster X10 in gold (For Buzzsaw) The red one is already a great stand in for Classics Laserbeak.
Energon Omega Supreme as G1 Omega Supreme Universe Cheetor as Tigatron (with remolded head) And even though I'm not the biggest fan of Alternators, I would have loved to see a big pack with a new mold Soundwave and 2 repainted Cybertron Lugnutz' as Frenzy & Rumble, or even just a two pack of Frenzy & Rumble.
I don't get the love for "Magnus" repaints. They're just white. The laziest, most unimaginative repaints ever.
Saw a pic of it in radicons waaaay back and always thought it would be an awesome idea: Cybertron Menasor into Omega Supreme. I know I'd buy one.
Classics Bumblebee into Skids and Mudflap Classics Prime into Movie Prime Classics Starscream into ROTF Starscream Universe Sideswipe into Movie Sideswipe Univers Prowl into Movie Barricade etc, etc, etc, along this pattern. Any CHUG toy in Diaclone colors.
ROTF prime into Nemesis Prime full on no effing around w/ that its freakin' ridiculous it has'nt happened yet. and no one needs to say that black and gold one either becuause Black Light blue and freakin' red is nemesis
G2 laser Optimus Prime into G1 Optimus Prime. They did it for the spychanger, they need to do it for the full size one dagnabbit!
Cyb. Hardtop in a Beachcomber deco. Cybertron Leader Prime in a Hot Spo- *ahem* Hot Zone deco. Henkei Generic Seeker(s). Cybertron Leader Metroplex in a G1 Metroplex deco.
