So far I've been really excited and amazed to see a movement towards the under-appreciated side of this continuity and generation.

As for something that had been brought up by the production team as a bit of an open-ended thing; Beast Wars ended up coming together quite nicely, and proved to be one of the most well-rounded series (that I've had the chance to view) to date.

I'm not saying it is the best, but I will always come back to this gen for a satisfying watch.

On to the idea of Rattrap coming next in line for a promotion--I say hell yes. I'd absolutely adore to see another one of my favorite characters up in the ranks. Here's to the other supporters, and may the best bot win.

Why I think Rattrap deserves to be in the TF HoF:​

1. First, Rattrap was an excellently defined character. Probably one of, if not THE, most defined characters, ever! (really wish I could retrieve the post that I grouped them all together in, as I phrased it better there)
   • He wasn't just some goody, goody. He was right on the fence regarding behavior: he'd fight dirty, cheat, steal & generally sink to the level of the Preds, or worse, Decepticons, but only for the side of good.
   • He was irreverent & always had a snide comment ready
   • He had total disregard for authority & had no problem letting Optimus Primal know!
   • but in spite of all of this, he had a defined moral code & would not cross it... He even came out more honorable than Dinobot!
2. & Rattrap's character didn't change much in Beast Machines.
   • When he finally transformed, & learned he had no weapons (even in Beast Wars, he felt naked w/o them... It's even in his BIO!), he complained the entire time, as was expected of him after Beast Wars, & went to Megatron for some, honored his agreement to protect him (having been told the Maximals wouldn't attack him, so it was initially one of his typical tricks/ cheats), but rose above his petty need for a weapon, becoming the most useful Maximal on the entire team, argueably through out the entire Beast Era
3. Next, he defined Dinobot's character, flushing it out. If they hadn't been arguing the entirety of Beast Wars, Dinobot would've probably been a flat character that was hard to believe, & would've never been HoF material. Their arguing made both believable.
4. He also has a really impressive, logical skill set, w/o an actual "power". All of his skills go together: He's a spybot
   • Infiltration
   • Lockpicking
   • Stealth
   • Computer Hacking
   • Hand to hand, melee & projectile combat, as well as explosives (which he'd switch between midfight at times)
   • Demolishions Expert, so he coud break in undetected, snoop around, & leave a flaming crater when he's done
     1. He had weapons hidden on him, from his Demolishions Charges to an Infiltration kit
     2. He could've taught Bay a few things
     3. & Demolishions lent itself to mining, too...
   • Survival Skills
     • He wasn't a coward, he just didn't want to die
   • & he had Leadership skills, even though he despised authority, if he had to, he could BE the authority effectively... Even getting Dinobot to listen...
   • and the flexibility to pull it all off believeably.
     • the only thing keeping him from being a Ninja was he didn't care for discipline, which only made him MORE believable
5. though he added comic relief, he wasn't a joke character; he was just pessamistic & a realist
   • "Where all gonna die!... I know, I know, shutup Rattrap..."
   • "That was positive... I could've said tortured & then vaped!"
   • Do you know how many parts of Waspinator I have?
6. & to top it all off, he started most of the Slang the TFs, & much of this board use, slagit! He's probably added more in this area than anyone else on this list has added in general...

Come on people, Vote Rattrap! I seriously doubt you could make a, honest, list this long (litterally a FULL SCREEN) for ANY of the other characters in this poll!

Rattrap has contributed more & has a better defined character than ANYONE on the list!

Larry and Bob? yes, yes, and hell yes!

Every single character from BW? No, sorry. Dinobot's storyline is the defining story of BW. Waspinator embodies BW's humorous tone. Together they capture the full scope of BW. Adding more characters now is just redundant.

Open up the HOF a bit. Let's see another generation represented by a defining character like Sky-Byte. Or add a character that transcends generations like Unicron. Or of some historical significance like Minerva.

Clogging it with Beast Wars characters (GREAT as they are) is just as bad as clogging it with G1 characters. There's more to TF that just 2 series.

 

If we are ever to get Hasbro to start selecting characters that started outside of G1, we have to do this way. If it means a few years of Beast Wars winning the HoF fan vote do it, then so be it. First they might start to select BW characters, but then thats a sign they are starting to open up. They need to get the message, fighting back with strong characters with one of the best TV series ever is the way to do it. Get BW out of the way and that opens the door to RID, UT, Animated, Movies, Prime.
