Seriously, out of everything in Darkest Hour, Ratchet was the best, hands down. Jeffrey Combs put so damn much emotion into his lines that I could actually feel my heart breaking.

Ratchet never ceases to be one of my favorite things about this show. <3

    "We needed that."

The first time this line has emotionally conflicted me.

Ratchet really brought some good elements to the story. For a moment I thought he was going to go over to the cons. He really wanted to go home.

Very nice emotion from Ratchet, and a very fitting line.

I think I may be the only one who didn't like that speech.

And I actually wanted Ratchet to die. His line, "We needed that" was so full of emotion, made me so sad. I didn't even like Ratchet.

The way he stumbled back and slumped onto the control panel was just great.

Yeah, I'm generally not an emotional person, I don't feel any connection to the characters. However, the way Jeffrey Combs delivered that line did tug at my heart because Ratchet didn't sound like a cool alien robot, but a relate-able living being. You could sense the heartbreak in Ratchet's voice and face and feel the weight behind the lines, and that is why this episode cemented Combs as my favorite voice actor in the show.

Ratchet's never been happy on Earth and going home was the one thing he really wanted. It was terrible seeing him denied like that. :(

I dont remember Ratchet showing emotions like it did last night. And yes, the acting was incredible. Was sad, angry, calm..all mixed so nicely! But I also see something more in the character, I can see him becoming the BM Rhinox of the TFP universe. :S

Obviously, if it comes down to Earth or Cybertron, Rachet would pick Cybertron. And, really, can you blame him.

Taking into consideration that scene and the "I never thought it would end like this" line when he was going through the Ground/Space Bridge, I sort of think that Ratchet will turn against Optimus for what he's done, not so far as to join the Decepticons, but enough so that he holds a grudge and says stuff like "You lost the right to call me "Old Friend" when you destroyed the Omega Lock you M*****F****r!" (Okay so maybe not those exact words...). Of course knowing this show, a single thirty-second Optimus Prime speech about unity and ethics using dated vocabulary will probably be enough to get Ratchet back on Optimus' side. :redface2:

That struck a chord with me, too.

I also liked seeing him patch things up with Wheeljack.

Me too. I also liked how he snapped at Smokescreen when he opened his big mouth. Ratchet had every right to be upset.

Nope, definitely can't blame him and I side with his point of view. Yes, no one wants the human race wiped out, but the war the Autobots have been fighting for so long has just become pointless. They've had friends and comrades die for literally nothing. The whole point was for control of a renewed Cybertron, but now that will never happen. It's a terrible feeling that Ratchet must have right now.

I half expected Ratchet to stay with Optimus in the base & then for Optimus to shoot him through the space bridge or something before doing his thing.

... but yeah, Jeffery Combs is easily my favorite actor on the show.
