In your opinion, and why, who had the more grueling death? Ratchet with the slow, painstaking death, or Ironhide being acid cannon'd and rusting away?
If I had to pick which way I'd rather die, heart ripped out or melting, I think I'll take the heart ripped out way. Its quick, at least. Then again, I've never melted before, so maybe its relatively painless experience.
Ironhide. Ratchet's was more drawn out, but Ironhide had to watch his body pretty much rot away in front of his eyes.
Well, they both ended up in pieces, betrayed by those who were SUPPOSED to be on their side, and their death's were portrayed graphically. Tie.
I'm going to have to pick Ironhide. He had the most slow and gruesome death... Very painful to watch. I actually had to turn my head away the first time I saw it just so that I couldn't watch my favourite character melt away...
No real answer for me, but as little as I am emotionally invested in the movies, I was actually a little sad to see Ratchet get offed.
Ratchet's was written to be more brutal and emotional, He was exploded out of hiding, shot at with gatling guns as a Hummer H2 then has his leg blown off, gets shot by Lockdown from afar, has his spark ripped out then has his head melted for Transformium... Ratchet's was more brutal. I liked Ironhide and his death was also disgusting.
Shit, both of them were pretty nasty. Ironhide gets betrayed by a figure he had much respect for and slowly and painfully disintegrates, Ratchet is hunted and mutilated by the very species he swore to protect before getting murdered by Lockdown. But I think I'll vote for Ironhide having a nastier fate. Ratchet at least had the chance to fight back, take a few down with him and then tell Lockdown to fuck off, whereas Ironhide could do nothing but lie there, rusting away.
Ironhide. Because no one said anything about his death after he died, sad part is Ironhide was the best Autobot in the first three films.
If you were a Transformer, melting would leave no possible way for you to come back. However, having your spark ripped out and not damaged or lost, you can still come back.
Both their deaths were fucked up. Ironhide melts away still ALIVE after being betrayed and shot by someone he was sworn to protect, literally right on the spot. Ratchet was scared shitless before he was friggin BLOWN out of hiding, leg shot off, a helpless medic trying to reason with the very species he was sworn to protect, now killing him, that he's their friend. He then finds out fucking Lockdown is working with them to finish him off by ripping his life-force out. Then later his head is melted. Irohhide's death was quick whereas we really feel for Ratchet. At least Ratchet died a heroic death protecting Prime's location.
I like to think that Ratchet and Ironhide's death go under the same category of death that G1 Prowl and Armada Smokescreen goes under. It was unexpected. Ironhide rusted to death and Prowl.... ...What I'm trying to say is that it's hard for me to determine which death was worse both were pretty bad.
