I have seen very few original Bravers and Lasters, but I did find a MISB Blacker a few years ago for $150.

Road Caesar is not really rare.

I've seen at least 3X units just last year alone. :)

If I remembered correctly, there was a "surprise find" of Japanese Blackers a few years back & he could be had for as low as USD $100.

Several Sellers from Singapore were peddling those on eBay. (All at the same time)

Only Blacker, not the other 2 fellas.

I donno several times a year is rare in my books, he's definitely hard to find.

Hmm, I got mine from a UK or US seller I think. Maybe mine was from this batch.

If you are interested in rare Transformers stuff that you have a shot at getting with the right amount of cash and a few solid months of careful auction/sales post watching, then there's plenty of great contributions in this thread already.

If you want items that appear once a decade, have less than 10 known specimens in collections that we're aware of then here are a few examples:

    Minibots:
Transformers Iga (Mexico) silver Bumblebee with red face (not to be confused with the common Brazilian one)

Transformers Iga (Mexico) white Cliffjumper with red face
    [IMG]

    and to a lesser degree:

Transformers Iga (Mexico) silver Cliffjumper with red face
    [IMG]

Transformers Iga (Mexico) all blue Huffer-mould "Pipes"

Any sort of packaged or loose Venezuelan Rubiplas Transformers minibot
    [IMG]

and again to a lesser degree Brazilain Estrela-manufactured Optimus vs Malignus packaged minibots and Peruvian Lynsa-made Transformers minibots, especially in exclusive colours such as this:

    Autobot cars

Transformers European Milton Bradley "Sideswipe" which is really a Sunstreaker:

Transformers Iga (Mexico) Smokescreen variants which are actually either a Bluestreak in Smokescreen colours, or half-Bluestreak/half-Smokescreen hybrids:

Transformers Iga (Mexico) Prowl which is mostly black, and I don;t mean the regular black Mexican Prowl which is tricky enough, but this version actually had a black crescent on the hood, black doors and a much higher percentage of overall black paint on it than the other variants found:

Just stretching to Diaclone cars too...

Finnish Diaclones in general are super tough, there's only one known specimen of a boxed pre-Mirage for example:

Finnish Diaclone Black Tracks is a fan favourite rarity, 8 samples known worldwide, of those 4 boxed:

Not sure if these are one-off samples or just hideously rare short production runs, but we have a red-cabbed Japanese Powered Convoy with a chrome trailer:

    and a Japanese all-black Diaclone pre-Sideswipe:

Some of the second year Joustra Diaclone cars have only ever appeared in packaging once or twice like the Hound, WHeeljack, Tracks and Prowl. Sunstreaker, Smokescreen, Grapple and Inferno are yet to be pictured in packaging at all...

    Decepticon jets

Transformers G1 Ramjet with orange canopy and misplaced rubsign:

Transformers European Milton Bradley "Starscream" with Thundercracker inside:

And if you really want to go way out there, the Finnish Microman Browning is going to haunt pre-TF collectors for years to come, barring a case find, but that's only for packaging variant collectors:

There are also ones that I don't have pictures of such as Mexican Iga Dirge, Mexican Iga Thrust etc

I know there's more, but there is a limit to what I can remember and access pictures of at this precise moment :)

    All the best
    Maz

    Whoa, no chance mate! :)

I have the MB Sunstreaker/Sideswipe, a couple of the Mexican Smokescreen hybrids (not the full Bluestreak), second year Joustra, Finnish Mirage, Finnish Browning and Finnish Black Tracks from that list I posted.

I used to have those blue "Puffers", the MOSC Peru Huffer, the orange canopy Ramjet but they're a while gone now.

I'd sell all sorts of your family members for it too!

With so few actually sold, there's no precise average value but it is in the 4-figure ball park.

    :)

Ah well, conversely I have never owned - and will probably never own - Blaster, Roadbuster, Whirl, Ratbat, Eject, Rewind, Ramhorn, Steeljaw, Slamdance, Beastbox, Slugfest, Overkill, Octane, Sandstorm, Trypticon, Fortress Maximus, Star Saber, Overlord, Victory Leo, Liokaiser, Dinoking, Minerva, Go-Shooter, Super-Ginrai, God Ginrai, Darkwings, Dreadwing, Brainstorm, Highbrow, Scorponok, Soundblaster, Twincast, Artfire, Mindwipe, Weirdwolf, Menasor, Defensor, Ransack, Venom, Barrage, Chop Shop, Doubledealer, Computron, Piranacon, Abominus, Misfire, Slugslinger, Triggerhappy, Pointblank, Sureshot, Crosshairs, Sludge, Bumblejumper, Silverbolt, Broadside, Bruticus, Gnaw, Throttlebots, Triggercons, Sparkabots, Clones, Duocons, Pretenders, Powermasters (besides PM Prime) and so on and so forth.

    It's a trade off :)

Ah? That's quite the trade off:)  Is that due to personal preference or availability?

Well yeah, personal preference because I know I can't collect Transformers G1 and pre-G1, it's one or the other. Made that choice years ago, and apart from distractions like Binaltech, Alts, Animated and the Movie, I've stuck to it on the whole, much more focused int he last 2 years.

    All the best
Maz... says he who nearly fainted from awesome as he opened his MP-12 and 14 today...

agreed, i've made the concession that i will not be going after the minibot variants, or diaclone/microchange. japanese stuff has to wait until us is done minus a few key pieces

You like them then? Such great figures... probably the best car robots I've owned since Alts, and far more fun than any of those were. These two really are G1 reborn.

Ahh man they are spectacular beyond words, I can't believe I held out for so long. I likes me a good Diaclone and vintage rarity, but I'm just awestruck by these.
