I've been curious about how other TF fans rank the movies. (I looked for a similar thread but didn't didn't see it, but if one like this was already made, please direct me to it.)

Anyway, please rank the 5 Bayformers movies by your personal favorites (how much fun you have watching it) and by your film critic list (how good was the quality of the movie if you were a film critic [plot, characters, etc]).

Personal Favorite

1. Transformers (9/10)
2. RotF (9/10)
3. the Last Knight (7/10) (granted, I've only seen it once)
4. Dark of the Moon (5.5/10) (the second half of this film is the only reason why it's not as low, or below, Age of Extinction)
5. Age of Extinction (4.8/10)

Quality wise

1. Transformers (8.5/10)
2. Dark of the Moon (7.5/10)
3. Age of Extinction (6/10)
4. Revenge of the Fallen (4.2/10)
5. the Last Knight (4/10) (granted, I've only seen it once)

Just like in math, 5 is an average film (just as much good as there is bad), so though I do think the Transformers have made a couple bad films, I don't think any of them were particularly terrible from a film making standpoint.

So you're telling me, from a story, narrative, character, plot, and writing standpoint, the first is the worse one? -_-

1 2006 Transformers- still the best
2 Dark side of the moon- this was just a epic finale to the trilogy at the time
3 The last knight- maybe it's in my top 3 due to just seeing it and loving it
4 Age of extinction
5 Revenge of the fallen- last on list but I love This one too

 

i only rate movies as a 'film critic' i guess..going by my imdb scores..

that being said, i still throughly enjoy these movies & the filmverse in general, for whatever reason..said it many a time, been a bay fan since the beginning & i love his style...im not a fan boy though as i can admit if a film is good or not but even in the bad films there's still plenty of stuff i enjoy on an aesthetic level at the least..i also am addicted to watching the transformers on screen..there's something..intoxicating about them..separate from anything else ive seen..

I knew someone would ask this soon. I am in the minority in this, and I'm very well aware of this. TF1 is not "bad" per se, just inferior to the other movies (my opinion). It's really overrated so to say. It is the OG movie, the one that started it all, but after comparing to the others, it had the most human screentime out of all; even surpassing that of TLK. For me, the story and narrative are pretty straight forward, never have I gotten lost in any of the stories presented. The characters are also decent. Perhaps this is just my bias for the Autobots (Bumblebee specifically), but while I would like Cons to be similar to the ones we got in Prime, it doesn't bother me much.

I might be in the minority but I think 13 Hours is Bay's best film.

 

it was better the second time around in my opinion..the problem for me was...they introduced all these characters so fast that i couldn't tell who was who or what i should feel for them..also, i just don't think there was much of a movie there...it was basically they attack us, we kick their ass, rinse & repeat until the finale where they are starting to wear the soldiers down & then miracle save..it wasn't bad im just a tough rater i guess!

i was glad bay tried something a little different than usual
