Whys siege so high? I'm just asking

 

I like the Cybertron Modes and it gets bonus points for beginning the interesting, highly-greebled War for Cybertron trilogy and its continuing aesthetic paradigms that have formed the basis for the other 4 lines. When I got into collecting it was the most highly available line. A lot of interesting versions of characters and great color choices and alt modes. Lots of fun accessories. Jetfire and Omega Supreme, Shockwave, Astrotrain, the triangle seekers, good stuff.

I haven’t put Evolution yet as we’re about a wave into it (and a handful of leaks) but if all the figures are to the quality of the past few lines than it’ll probably be #1 based just on listings. Kingdom n Legacy are very, very close for me. I think Kingdom had the stronger mainline but I love the exclusives of Legacy. I’d maybe switch em if I thought longer. Idk though.

Evolution character wise I would rank at 1. But we'll have to wait and see how the figures actually turn out

 

I second this, and my listing is similar to yours at first.

1.Siege - because it pulled me and many others back into "the game" of what updated G1 figures/toys felt like they should look with modern engineering (articulation) and the return of decent plastic. (I ended up getting almost all of the line aside a few micromasters and some exclusives)

2.Earthrise - For the continuation of the figures/characters that were still missing from Siege, but with lots of repetition for the "earth mode" that didn't appeal to me, and on top of that, there was a lowering of quality for most of those particular figures. (I got maybe a third of the line if that)

3.Kingdom - For the continuation of the figures/characters that were still missing from Siege/ER, and for the Beast War figures that while I'm not into the BW organic thing, some figures managed to truly win me over anyways. (even less than a third). Quality had ups and downs.


I differ for the next two as I fell that the list needed to be corrected:

4.Legacy/Velocitron Speedia 500 - Again, more continuation for a few figures missing from the previous lines (such as the Beast Wars ones), and the line had a very small number of figures that pulled at me, so that for most of the year, I barely got any... (2 deluxe, 4 voyager and Metroplex), while the Velocitron pulled a few decent figures, along with the exclusives, but still I barely got any.

5. Legacy/Evolution - There's Tarn.. that's it so far for me, and I want the character, fine with the esthetics, but hate the engineering that is cheap as hell (like hell, they couldn't even bothered with some tiny wheels so you have to drag that damn thing?)

If anything the SS86 line should have been mentioned as it would stand equal as #4 as I believe that I ended up getting very few of them, but about the same number of figure as Legacy (6, I think).


And with each line, I see more and more corners being cut in different ways, but also, as Kingdom was ending, the prices started to rise and did so a few times, so now a deluxe can cost close to what a voyager was just a year before.

My personal list based on my current collection. But every line has their bangers.

I loved earthrise mini-city side of the line that reminded me of titans returns in the aspect of the base/ vehicles/ robots for the smaller bots.

Siege had toys that were actually fun to pose, transform and mess with. I just pick them up to play more often with, as my main shelf consist of the Earthrise main characters.

Kingdom had fun toys especially Beast Wars but the line felt more like a continuation of Earthrise.

Legacy is the line I just pick up random toys to fill the rest of the other lines. I thought I was going to like the G1-fication of the alternate universe bots but they didn't feel right somehow.

I rejoined the collecting craze during Earthrise, but I didn't like the line at the same time. When I rejoined, Siege stuff were mostly gone leaving behind a whole shelf of headless Chromias. The figures from Siege were pretty nice at least, like Spinister and Sideswipe. I liked Kingdom line but I didn't really like Legacy 2022. As for Evolution, I can't judge yet cuz it's not over.
