Yeah really. I tried watching it once but I couldn’t get past episode 5. I just remember thinking “I could be doing something actually fun right now” and stopped it like 5 minutes into the episode

 

The concept of becoming a mix of organic and robotic was cool. But they did it wrong.

 

Not saying that looks good, but his previous face and the "exposed brain" look were uglier.

The BM head is what I hated the most. Looked like a kid from an Nintendo game. The kid who throws paper.

I tried to come up with altmode ideas for the nameless motorcycle OC. I wanted the size difference between him and Blackstorm (the black and gold lamborghini/pontiac) to be as minimized as possible, so i googled for the largest existing motorcycles. There was literally one list.

I don't know if it was the biggest, but BMW K1600 GTL was the only bike on the list to have a front that'd be like the OC's chest piece, though it doesn't give me a good vibe about his size. Or how much of it isn't painted. At least that backrest (and the box it's attached to) seem to come off. That on the side is also clearly a box. Though the headlight is completely different from the chest idea i had and really liked for the OC, there isn't even room for thr black lines, and i wouldn't put too much black on his robot mode. There'd also be a star decal somewhere it'd end up on his shoulder.

According to my random sources, 2011 Lamborghini Aventador's dimensions are; L 478cm, W 203cm, H 113.56cm.
And 2011 BMW K1600 GTL's are; L 248,90cm, W 100cm, H 146,50cm.
That'd mean the motorcycle is 229.1cm shorter, 100cm narrower, and 32.94cm taller(???) than the lamborghini.

With the dimension differences and the amount of color on the motorcycle, how much smaller than Blackstorm would the motorcycle OC have to be?

I'm aware of mass shifting particularly in TFP (ex. Ratchet's altmode vs. Megatron's foot scene in s3), but there are propably still limits of believability, and i've heard that Earthspark (which i have a little bit of interest in because of the premise) avoids mass-shifting and has robot mode sizes make sense. I don't know how accurate that is because i haven't watched it yet, but i thought the motorcycle OC and Blackstorm would have a later model of the same altmode in Earthspark designs.

 

Yeah I think the sheer uphill battle the Maximals were in during BM could get frustrating at times. It’s a very different situation from well BW and the G1 cartoon. Darkest Hour Moments like these are saved for season finales. BM was a darkest hour scenario the whole way through. It could get hard to watch. The Maximals were all jaded and suffering from various levels of PTSD.

While sometimes to help a character grow you need to push them out of their comfort zone not everyone is a fan of the “misery builds character trope”. Sometimes that can go too far.

I don’t remember seeing him before but maybe I’ll try to watch the episode again tonight and be on the lookout

The only problem I can foresee is that I don’t think there is a full version out there of the original aired episode……Just the DVDs and videotape copies

 

Imagine what would happen if Dreamwave never went out of business, made comics for many Transformers series, and Pat Lee still drew many of the comic art and designs. **shudders**
