Hi All, With Combiner Wars leader Magnus and the upcoming Powermaster Prime essentially 'sharing' a mold plus RID being 15 years old wouldn't it be interesting to see if there's a way to create a homage to Omega Prime?
There are some rumors of Hasbro doing an "APEX" homage for PMOP coming down the road. So I suppose anything is possible. Honestly I'm disappointed Hasbro decided to do PMOP the way they did for Titans instead of building a trailer that could turn into limbs for CW Voyager Prime. That would've opened the door for all kinds of potential powerups and add-ons.
Ugh, that would be GREAT. You know what I could see being slightly more likely, though, since that would require a TON of of modification to both molds potentially, is this: If that Iron Apex rumor turns out to be true and we get a TR version of God Ginrai/Apex Powermaster Prime, I could very easily see them lending themselves to a Fire Convoy/RiD Prime repaint. Powermaster Prime could be repainted to look like Super Fire Convoy, Iron Apex could be repainted to look like God Magnus, and their combined mode could be repainted to look more like God Fire Convoy. Since we got hosed out of that super-obvious CW Hot Spot repaint, I could also settle with this.
Interestingly, there was a quote somewhere on the boards that despite sharing some concept and engineering, that Magnus and PM Op only share a small # of pieces between them ~ obviously the feet and weapons (which is so bizarre me)... maybe the hips ~ so they don't really share a mold as much as a concept. as for a RiD'01 homage, i'm all for any of it, but still think a combiner set with Hot Spot to Fire Convoy, Defensor to Super Fire Convoy would work better.
That is hilarious! I could actually try that it I can dig out my God Magnus. As much as I want RiD updates, I don't think this one would work.
