Is it just me, or is the leader-class 'Ram' manouevre completely useless in multiplayer? Even with the related perk activated, I always seem to collide with the opponent and stop dead, while they riddle me with bullets. It's hard to tell if I've even hit them or not.

Online is a bit hit-and-miss anyway... STILL no host migration? Servers frequently showing 0 players? No button config? No keyboard support or ability to mute other player's mics? Lame.

yeah I find ramming to be useless. I've tried all day trying to get the Ram-Horn trophy where you have to stun an enemy and kill him with ram and have had no luck in Campaign or Escalation

Yeah, Ramming seems to be really iffy. I tried it last night by ramming my way through a 'Con controlled node in Power Struggle. I completely whiffed it, atleast it looked that way. But like 10 seconds later, after going through the node, I got the EXP thing for ramming someone. Just some weird ass hit detection on it or something.

I dunno, I used ram the other day and totally bowled through about three enemies after softening them up. (two scientists and a scout, which I think it the best this ability can handle)

It's really picky about hit detection, though. There are better abilities.

Ramming isn't useless. That attack is risky but deals good damage. I was able to take out a soldier from behind from a distance.

back when i was using leader ramming was one of my favorite combo starters. i would see a group of enemies, warcry, ram, transform, shoot the survivors with ion blaster, and drive off. if i die, i drop two thermo mines automatically

Ramming depends on a lot of factors I think, my biggest problem is team mates getting in my way. Soldiers won't die from it neither will leaders if they are at full health, but scientists and scouts go down like a drunk college girl. You just have to be sure about what you're going up against, soften you target up before you ram, shoot him a few times with your rockets before you go in head first.

Also I think in Escalation the ram ability is in fact weaker because you don't get to choose perks.

For the Ramhorn achievement, just go to the checkpoint where Prime, Bumblebee, and Sideswipe are back in prison after Megatron's teleport. After Prime breaks out with his axe make sure to pick up a stack of emp grenades. There is a door that has two Con drones, just throw the grenade, transforms, and run and ram.

Ramming in MP can be done, I usually get hits when on Street during Conquest. Long straight shots at people, spam rockets and by the time I get to them with ram they should die or I die getting there.

Ram is awesome, if you use the perk that boosts it, man better watch out.
If you ram someone full speed and they don't die, just back up and shoot them
while in vehicle form and they'll die almost every time.

I love using it in Conquest, I just fly into a node and slam whoever I see and start in on the rest.

Does War Cry effect Ram at all? It seems like it does as I use it before I ram and I seem to get kills easier but I'm not positive if it helps or not.

Probably but I hardly notice because every leader I face has warcry on.

I love Ramming People ON multiplayer,it kills scientists and scouts in one hit(i think),the only bad thing is you completly stop when you hit them and more that likely their teammates start firing at you,i think this is a multiplayer problem because when you ram enemies in single player you keep going through them.

You can completely Own a room full of enemys with ram if you aim it properly, the most i got was 2 scientists and 1 scout were holding down a room so i burst in there and rammed them all at once(i have no idea why they were so close together)

Yeah, as most said here: Works great on Scouts and Scientists, but it won't kill a Soldier or Leader at full health.

    I use Ram for speed.
It's useless for offense in my opinion.
I remember playing Escalation once and I used ram to clear a path.

Ran into a MACHINE GUNNER. nothing happened. I stopped dead. he shot me and I had to transform and run back before I was overrun by Autobot clones
    Yuk... :tumbleweed:

Only if they don't die. If you kill them, you keep moving. I rammed/destroyed three Scientists in one match.

Well I've experimented with it some more in MP... still haven't killed anything. Every time I just stop dead and get filled with lead. It's not like I'm missing, or generally being a numpty - I do tend to win most games I play... Ram just doesn't wanna work. I'm putting it down to terrible collision detection.

Well yeah, because a machine gunner takes more to kill then regular soldiers. Its common sense. You caused damage to him, but it takes more to kill. Doesnt make it useless.
