@Marto6 in the MN Sightings thread just spotted price tags for both in a Wilmar Target.

    Rainmakers: $80
    Micromaster Set: $40.

No Micromasters for me. Got the first runs, not big into their repaints. =\

You must not have grown up during the UT era, because repaint or not they make me feel like a kid again. The big boxsets they did during Universe were just pure awesomeness, and this totally makes me nostalgic for those.

Selling the Rainmakers for less than 3 voyagers combined normally are? I’ll take it.

A slight savings make sense, as these are bundles (plus mainly repaints of existing toys) and require less packaging than an individual figure would. I expect the Alpha and Phantom Strike (or whatever the names for the G2 Sideswipe/Slamdance and Skywarp sets are) will also be a little less than expected ($40-45 USD, rather than $50).

Looks like using one color of paint really did pay off.

The paint job and price definitely point to these being something they put out to collect a quick buck to fund other stuff with.

(And I'm fine with that. If the Siege Seeker can be a cash cow to help make stuff like the Seacons happen then pimp away.)
