@Marto6 in the MN Sightings thread just spotted price tags for both in a Wilmar Target. Rainmakers: $80 Micromaster Set: $40. Follow quote to original his original post with pics and DPCIs.
Too bad neither appear to be in the system... try to find 'em and Target gives nothing but "Screw You." Did find the bill of lading, though, looks like the whole run of E7670 is headed to Canada. Hasbro S.A., South Korea | Supplier Report — Panjiva
You must not have grown up during the UT era, because repaint or not they make me feel like a kid again. The big boxsets they did during Universe were just pure awesomeness, and this totally makes me nostalgic for those.
A slight savings make sense, as these are bundles (plus mainly repaints of existing toys) and require less packaging than an individual figure would. I expect the Alpha and Phantom Strike (or whatever the names for the G2 Sideswipe/Slamdance and Skywarp sets are) will also be a little less than expected ($40-45 USD, rather than $50). +-MWG-+
The paint job and price definitely point to these being something they put out to collect a quick buck to fund other stuff with. (And I'm fine with that. If the Siege Seeker can be a cash cow to help make stuff like the Seacons happen then pimp away.)
