Y'know, there are only 24 different combinations of dates so that calendar could be used at some point in the future. Don't ask me when though. Or so I learned in Persona 3... But seriously, That sure did take a while. Did they not renovate at all in this time? Were all the machines still steam powered?
Girl, haven't you noticed, most government buildings are built to last?? all that stone and marble and stuff? ... and especially in older sections of a major city, they don't move too often. Some rural areas will get a new USPO because of the added addresses and zip codes...but nope, I wouldn't be surprised if the office hadn't been updated in 50+ years, not at all.
Yeah, but what about the stuff in them? But to be honest, I have no idea what the post office really looks like. I highly doubt a Rugrats episode from season 1 is really a good source. I've only seen stuff picked up at Co-Op and Sears.
Exactly this. And this story makes me curious. My parents post office is moving to a smaller location. I wonder what kinda goodies have been lost in there that might finally see the light of day.
Here ya go....there's all types of buildings in this link...from historic to new construction. List of United States Post Offices - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia IF they remove heavy equipment, sorting equipment, etc. and walls, it could be a goldmine.
This. Coatesville PA has a post office in town that looks like the entire front counter was hewn out of one giant solid piece of marble. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they found old mail stuffed behind an old piece of the place.
Is it sad that I read "Railroad calendar" and immediately though of Pennsylvania? Maybe it's just familiarity with my state?
