Hi everyone, Looking to pool some opinions about making a custom Rack n' Ruin figure: Should he have an alt mode, and if so, what should it be? Canonically, Rack and Ruin were each mini-jets before they were forever linked at the shoulder. Some customisers have replicated this with enviable results, but I'm looking for something else. If they should have a vehicle mode, I want it to reflect their conjoined nature. For example a vehicle and trailer that use their fused shoulder as the trailer hitch. I also thought something like a backhoe loader could be neat, though difficult. So tell me what you think! Any other ideas like which figures to start with are also more than welcome
Dude! You could use Titans Return Triggerhappy since the shoulders end up on the sides. Could make a killer twin jet. Edit: Siege Sixgun would work too, just noticed theres a digibash in this forum. Again, the arms end up at the sides in jet mode and the bodies are closer to R&R but only due to parts-forming. Customs: - Siege Rack'N'Ruin from two Siege Sixguns. (Digibash)
Cool idea, and thanks for the pictures. That gets me thinking. What about an approach similar to his Cyberverse show appearance, where he has one body and two heads? Slapping two Titanmasters on a TR Slugslinger would probably work.
I like that idea. I'm not too familiar with TR so I didn't even know about slugslinger. He's got two jet noses and a more boxy chest, so yeah you could slap two heads on(assuming you have the proper donors, or sculpt em), give it the hammer and anvil and be golden. Plus that way you wouldn't need to worry about modding the arm cannons triggerhappy has. Go for whatever you like. I like any form of Rack n Ruin tbh. Edit: Gundams? Something like this? Yeah, almost exactly like that. I was thinking a pair of Zaku IIs, since they're plentiful and no one would miss them. This drawing omits the hoses found on their knees, helmets, and abdomens since I'd be cutting those off. My big problem with using Zakus is their big anime feet. I'd like to find a slimmer HG kit. Ideally, one that's still green and less than $25 CAD shipped.
Neat idea! Besides the Zaku, the HGUC Loto or IBO Graze could work fairly well too. The Loto is good not only because it transforms, but because the geometry is closer to the TF aesthetic than most other mobile suits. And you get enough parts to build two of them to boot! The downside would be that the models are quite small (even for High Grade) and not green. The Graze is slimmer than a Zaku, though the feet might need some kitbashing. Hope this helps!
