i'll try to spot him when i see it again
I would stop with the download talk, unless you want a one-week (or permanent) ban.
Stickied rule in the movie forum:
Everyone should be well aware of the rules of this forum by now, especially when it comes to pirated materials.
That air and space museum in the movie is off of 28 around Dulles, VA. I've walked around that SR-71. There is NOT an airplane graveyard just outside the doors. Bay has some nutty geographical continuity. Also, Petra (in Jordan) is not a 10 minute drive from the Pyramids (in Egypt).
Yeah the graveyard was in MY backyard. Heck i've touched the SR-71 used for jetfire (before it was moved from the boneyard to the museum)... The arse rust was apparently contagious... *scratches
Hail Unz TFW2005!
I TOTALLY KNEW IT
Oh wait... haven't seen the movie yet.
Say it aint so, next you'll say there's no way a Camaro can turn into a robot... MICHEAL BAY LIED!!!!
Wasn't it where Simmons was tazzing the guard?
I think I remember seeing something out of the corner of my eye at some point that looked R2ish, but I didn't really pay attention to it. I probably saw something else though.
okay guys, seeing the movie again in two hours, so i will solve the mystery of R2-D2
Well shoot, why have it grounded in reality at all then? Surely Bay could have had way cooler flaming CG pyramids instead of bothering with the old crappy real pyramids. Just because there are transforming Camaros doesn't excuse Bay's rather bizarre editing. It's night. It's day. It's night. It's Egypt. It's Jordan. It's Egypt. Some movies manage to convey a passage of time. In Bay's universe Megatron goes from the Earth to Saturn in a few seconds. It's whatever looks cool at any given moment.
Also, and this is just pointlessly bizarre: All those maps you saw at military command, with a circle placed just north of the tip of the red sea? The pyramids are not there at all. They are to the west a fair ways. Why get that wrong?
Also it's about 300-400 miles from the Great Pyramid to Petra in Jordan - and that's as the crow flies. Did anyone get the impression from the movie that it took them half a day or more to get back to the Pyramids?
(Edit: I had to edit the distance because I'm apparently incapable of performing math. I orignally said 750 miles, to my great chagrin.)
Also, don't get me wrong, I loved the first third and the last third of the movie. It's just the whole scavenger hunt part that put me off.
Good luck! I never did spot the cow thing (the one that Anakin pretended to be trampled by...) that's supposed to be in the asteroid field in SW Episode II.
More like a Paramount promotional vehicle thing... except this time for whatever reason they decided not to run with it (maybe the Star Trek one didn't do as well as expected, or else TF2 is doing better than expected).
In the dorm room, Leo had a poster of Naruto too. Just pointing that out since I just got back from seeing it again.
ok i am back and i didn't 100% see him, but i really think i did see him....i got three possible leads.....
1.when the constructicons begin combinding, you see very fastly a white and blue cylinder object (i really think this is R2-D2)
2. in the desert battle before prime gets reborn, you see the top of a building that looks similar to the dome of R2-D2 (but i highly doubt it is him)
3. when they are talking strategy right before the final battle, you see a rusted tin can that is a bit similar to the head and body of a droid (probably not it)
i did my best
I got your tips my friend! I will watch it today in a few more hours. Hope I can see it.
I've read this thread b4 seeing the movie, and I tried to watch for it. But since it was my first viewing, I got caught up in all the action and forgot to look for the little guy.
Now thanks to guard convoy, the next time I see it, which is tomorrow, I'll try to look for R2... again.
no prob guys, i did my best, and gave us our first lead in finding the little astromech droid lol
