Hoo boy... I haven't heard of him until now...

However, for this great member of tfw2005 boards, he will be missed greatly... (salutes)

A co-worker of mine who reads up on Transformers news saw the news and said he was quite shook up himself, even though he had never talked to the guy or met him or dealt with him on any posts.

Shaun was a very powerful individual, more than he ever knew.

I remember going to the convention in Texas. I was in the hotel lobby, I arrived way before the others. The hotel was quiet, almost too quiet. So because of a 7 hour flight, I fell asleep. Well, not too long into my restfull slumber I awoke to a loud noise. It was Shaun. Being his usual cheerful self. Always the first to come up and greet you. Always having something to say and always wanting to listen. I watched him talk to several people and after they left to get a drink or whatever, more people came in and were greeted by Shaun. The man knew everyone and was everyone's friend. At past Botcon's I've always posted that we need to be more open in person. I don't know what it is but people will type anything on the boards but are afraid to walk up to someone and say hi. Shaun could teach us something. Be open honest and willing to take a chance. Get over the shyness and say hi. I am very easy to spot as I will be wearing my MegaMus t-shirt. If I see someone I recognize I'll definately say hi, please do the same. I want as many people as possible together to toast Shaun. Let's hear it.

Well if you consider how many people are working on this film, Shaun's name is probably on a long list (unfortunately), but it doesn't hurt to ask. That's all you can do really. Hiro's suggestion was a good one though.

The first thread I created and posted here was about my thoughts on the upcoming transformers movie and Shaun_C was the first member of the TFW2005 to reply to my message and very warmly welcomed me as a member of the boards. From his genuine post I immediately knew I was in the right place. Although I never met Shanu_C personally from what I hear he was a good natured and very personable fellow. I would have liked to have met him.

Thoughts and prayers go out to Shaun_C's family and friends.

    RIP.

He's the guy who you could talk to about anything just after meeting him, and he'd always understand where you're coming from when things are bad.
Then he lay down the wisdom and would always have something useful to say.
He had the gift of making friends.

Was the nicest guy around and genuine to the core

I met Shaun for the first time in 2003 at Botcon. Since that time I have looked forward to seeing him at each years show.

The products entertain us but more importantly bring us together in common friendship devoid of prejudice or ridicule. I will miss Shaun, as will many others in our Transformers community.

Gods speed to you on your next journey.

Damn... That's about all I got. I didn't know Shaun personally, only through his posts on the board here. He always came through as a good guy and a person you'd want to really know. I'll miss him.

I haven't been on the boards for a few days, and this is the first thread I see. I honestly thought at first that the thread was a joke (in very poor taste).

I liked Shaun, I liked his posts and he made me smile.

When I first saw this tread I thought it was some sick joke. Then when I saw it was not the news brought a tear to my eye. My prayers are with his family.

I just came back from Shaun's funeral, I was surprised at the number of people who showed up, it was literally standing-room-only and well beyond the building's capacity, probably over 300 people in attendance including a large extended family. The minister acknowleged the hundreds of condolences from the "Online Community". The tribute portion of the service was brief but his family was surprised to hear that he was a bit of an "internet superstar" and said they would buy tickets to see the Transformers movie in his memory. It was quite moving that the minister touched on the point that he wasn't able to fulfill many of his life-long dreams because his illnesses kept him from leading a normal lifestyle many aspects which most of us take for granted, regardless it didn't slow him down, he refused to let it prevent him from keeping up his bodybuilding and he remained determined to become a contributing member of society regardless of his limitations. He was kind, friendly and to those who really knew him, knew that he had a feisty, prankster side to his personality.

It was an unhappy memorial, the service had several technical difficulties and the minister wasn't the best public speaker and I'm sure Shaun would've had a lot to comment about the service, but knowing him it would have been all positive comments :)

I was thinking about that today.

Glad to see he touched so many people in 'real' life as he did here.

Thanks for the update, Mechamits. I'm happy to see that his online family was mentioned. I know we aren't his immediate family, but I'm glad we were mentioned anyways. Again, RIP Shaun. We miss you.

Thanks for letting us know about that. It is such a moving tribute that so many people showed up for his funeral. If I had the day off I would have made the 7 hour journey to it.
