I watched my dog pass today. He was about 10 years old. His health deteriorated quickly this morning. I gave him a bath and dryed him off. I moved him to a warm towel and he got up walked to the back of my game room behind my futon and made a few wimpering noises. I moved him back to the towel and he passed away. Cherish every moment you have with your animal. They love you unconditionally and rely on you for affection and attention. He will be missed. He was like my child. R.I.P. Ollie.
Oh man. I know exactly what you're going through. My pom passed a few years ago. I let him out in the morning. He walked out just fine, and when I called him in, he wouldn't move. I walked over to him, found him bleeding from his private area, and he'd barely move. I took him to the vet, and they told me there wasn't anything they could do, so I took him home. Took him to see my mom one day, to my aunts, I kept him close as I could. I went to work one day, left him at my grandparents so he wouldn't be alone, and my grandfather called me to tell me he'd passed. I was devastated, so I'm so sorry you're going through this, I truly am.
I'm sorry to hear it. I think I'm going to be facing the same thing pretty soon. My german shepherd is getting old and weak and I don't know how much longer I'll have with her. For what it's worth, I do believe that we will be reunited with our lost pets in the afterlife someday. Goodbye isn't forever.
So sorry to hear this. I know the pain as I have dealt with it before. Just think back to all the good times you've had....that'll make the pain a little easier to deal with. When we lost one of our dogs, board member Deceptikitty passed this on to me....it was very touching, and heart felt. So I pass on to you: Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
